Never Sleep Again is absolutely wonderful. His Name was Jason was a neat little bit, but it was definitely light on material as TwistedCritic had mentioned. Really looking for to this documentary!

I’m so sketchy on this movie (The Purge) for some reason…but the more I read about it, the more I want to check it out. As for Insidious 2, fuck yes. Paranormal Activity 5? Stahp.

This might be a strange comment, but I just switched from Comcast to Dish about a month ago…does Dish have a VOD platform where I can access movies like this? I hope someone will be able to help me out. Thanks!

Is this a remake of a previous version? I’m probably wrong but I don’t know why I recall it from an earlier time. Either way I’m wanting to see this film. Looks spooky!

Definitely for me, when Eileen enters the house to overhear mannaquins chatting to one another. The first big reveal of Plasterface is terrifying, but the idea of those wax figures conversing creeped the hell out of me. Also, when Jerry later finds himself there and Plasterface is childishly playing with dolls, surrounded by his legion of waxy…[Read more]

This film seems to have the same story attatched, for 80′s kids it was a late night discovery that traumatised them until they could track it down on DVD. It retained it’s power, and is definitely a classic. When did you first see this memorable terror-flick and were you like many haunted by scraps of its imagry for years afterwards?

Slausons Lost Oasis December 26, 2009 6:21 amWas the addition of telekinesis a good one, or a slightly muddled addition to what was already a fantastic film? Plasterface’s ‘abilities’ made him creepier sure, but many critics and horror fans have questioned whether it was a good move, especially when it seems to come out of nowhere.

This was definitely one of the best performances the Halloween series was ever blessed with. He perfectly nailed Tommy’s nervous, broken and haunted personality. The character really was the worthy successor to Dr Loomis and Rudd really made a lingering mark on the franchise. I often wonder what would have happened if Brian Andrews had reclaimed…[Read more]

Did anyone else pick up this awesome series when first released? The first two issues were particularly amazing, picking up where Halloween 6 left off. Tommy Doyle is writing a novel based on Loomis’ diaries (the diaries themselves refer to events mentioned in the awesome and earlier discussed Halloween novelization by Curtis Richards) when the…[Read more]

The Halloween VI: The Curse Of Michael Myers appreciation club December 24, 2009 11:29 am…was actually introduced in the novelization of the first film. Curtis Richards awesome novel opens with a druidic curse being placed upon a bloodline that turns it’s inflicted (Michael) into soulless killers. I think Farrands obviously had read the book and incorperated this element. That being said, should Halloween fans thus be more open to…[Read more]

Very true I have the novelization. Its the prolouge you are talking of.
Farrands had some great ideas the problem was the director Joe Chapelle. Who cared nothing of the script. Wrote his own ending. Fucked over Farrands and belittled Pleasance who died shortly after. The guy is utter slime.
-
Hey, thanks for posting (and anyone with an appreciation for Anna Paquin and H6 is a bloodbrother of mine).
Yeah, we came so close to having a great finale to the original series, if they had let Farrands do his own thing. I hate to think of the Halloween franchise as being picked apart by Dimension know-nothings as well. Akkads hands were…[Read more]

i didnt mind it.if it doesnt bother me to have telekenisis in friday the 13th then that wouldnt bother me either.
-
it was introduced in halloween 2 when michael wrote SAMHAIN on the blackboard at the school he broke into.dr.loomis explains it in the marshall’s car.there wouldn’t have been a 4,5&6 without it because there’d be no explanation for the fact that he won’t die !!

never knew that phsycokid, thankyou for enlightening me!

I dunno, what do you guys think? I remember being way hyped for the movie, then when it came I was a little dissappointed. Its not a bad movie, by any means, but its just not nearly as cool as the games.
-
well the movie was bad. really bad. There were not enough tension. It was not Silent Hill. Few different monsters here and there and to put Pyramid Head to please the fans? that’s not the real Silent Hill. I was very disappointed.. (I still loved Sean Bean)
-
Video games turned to movies can never ever run within the same “cool group” Its meant too,
which is sad. however I liked the film…Like DC and its 2nd world I saw the movie as a
Copy, like a silent hill 2.0
Not as good as the orgi but runs in its own lil leagueRATING: outta 10 I`ll give it a 6
-
It’s best moments were the sequences that bordered on abstraction – the dialogue-less surreal moments. These parts were very evocative of the game. The speech heavy narrative stuff didn’t come over well, (and some of the acting was very wooden) but then the dialogue heavy bits and voice acting in the games isn’t usually very effective. Silent Hill…[Read more]

It looks good, literally the visuals are pretty good but damn did it piss me the hell off.
If you want to see a good “Silent Hill” movie watch Jacobs Ladder which the first game is biased on.
-
I am probably going to get bitch slapped for this, but I have never played the game. Honestly, I have only ever owned a regular Nintendo system. That being said, I was way hyped for the movie, it looked so bad ass. I am happy to say that I was not disappointed. The monsters were beyond scary and it was very psychological, not alot of guts and gore…[Read more]

I posted my full review on BD of the movie as well as my idea of the meaning of the ending. My opinion is there…
-
The movie, I think, is quite good although could have touched on the game more. For example, why did they turn the main character (Harry Mason) into a woman!?
Good points in the movie though include the rubber face which spits acid on the cop chick. Looks just like the game version of rubber face!
The bit at the end where that bitch gets…[Read more]

I want to discuss this latest film. I heard it was crap, but the trailer looks so good and I’ve really developed self-hype (if you can call it that) to see it.
Anyone’s opinions on this movie? Is it worth freaking out over? (Like I already am now)
-
Just watched the trailer on youtube… the special fx makeup seems pretty solid, but I gotta say I’m sick and tired of those mtv-esque trailers with cheesy music and over-editing. But I am with you, it does sound like a promising movie.
-
Apparently it comes out on IFC Films in 2010. Hoepfully earyl 2010. I want this movie.
-
I heard some negative stuff about this film too, but I also liked the trailer so I waiting for this. Heard it had some similarities to Left 4 Dead so thats a plus for me.

The french have not let us down yet, and until they do i will buy buy buy!

The stuff in his romero movies sticks out to me. Chopping that guys head in half in Day was a pretty sweet maneuver, and from what i know of it groundbreaking too.
-
I’d have to say when he killed Kevin Bacon in Friday The 13Th was just great and you know it’s really hard to pick he has done so many things.
-
hahaha then mention them all
F13th was actually the first time i found out about him,
i was amazed by the effects,F13th was one of my first horror movies
and i’ve never seen people die in movies when i was young of course
and it really messed up with my head, i was always thinking that there
was somebody under the bed all the time. -
Yeah that was great stuff, the first time i saw that i had no idea who savini was, but when i saw it again in my teens i was like, holy shit! I didnt know he did that! It was pretty awesome.
-
Make-up…I really love his creep character in creepshow 2.
-
Fluffy from Creepshow!!!!
-
I really enjoyed the shotgun under the chin at the end of The Prowler…But I was blown away with Jasons head sliding down the machete at the end of Friday The 13th:the final chapter…
-
Shotgun kill in the Maniac.
-
I couldn’t even choose my favorite work of his… All of it is phenomenal!
-
Day Of The Dead, the last 30 minutes of the movie are like a highlight reel of his best work.
-
“Maniac” greatest goriest exploding head in horror history! Honorable mention – Woman’s facial self-mutilation with steel wool pad and pair of scissors in Douglas Buck’s horror short “Cutting Moments” (dare you to watch it and not squirm)
-
f13ht final chapter.
-
What isn’t good from Tom. He’s like a god of special effects, the only special effects artist who is almost as good as him is Greg Nicatero
