Hammer Horror and the British bloods January 14, 2010 4:59 amFor a certain generation (certainly in Britain in the 1970′s…though I’d be fascinated to know of any of your experiences elsewhere) the weekly ritual of watching ‘Doctor Who’ was, I suspect, partially to blame for an interest in ‘gothic horror’.
My era was the Tom Baker era, and storylines such as ‘The Talons of Weng Chiang’ and ‘The Horror…[Read more]

Bela Lugosi Fans. October 7, 2009 2:38 amWhats your favourtie Bela Lugosi film? He had many movies during his life, but which one tops your list?
It wouldnt let me list his movies (to many letters) so here is the link:
-
I love Bela’s performance in all of his movies but I have to go with Dracula (1931). With White Zombie 2nd and The Black Cat (1934) 3rd.
-
My top 3 would probably have to be:
Dracula
Dark Eye’s Of London
The Ape Manbut, he of course is great in everything.
-
Dracula
Murders in the Rue Morgue
White ZombieBela rules. My favourite actor.

So, come up to the lab,/ and see what’s on the slab!/ I see you shiver with antici… [long pause] …pation./ But maybe the rain/ isn’t really to blame,/ so I’ll remove the cause…/ [chuckles] but not the symptom.
FRANK N FURTER!!!!!!!!
-
Definately, sweet transvestite coz Tim Curry rocks!!
-
Hard to choose so i will go with Time Warp. Hot Patootie is a close second.
-
How d’you do, I see you’ve met my faithful handyman
He’s just a little brought down because when you knocked
He thought you were the candyman.
Don’t get strung out by the way that I look,
Don’t judge a book by its cover
I’m not much of a man by the light of day,
But by night I’m one hell of a loverI’m just a Sweet Transvestite from…[Read more]

I would like… If I may, to take you on a strange journey. It seemed a fairly ordinary night, when Brad Majors and his fiaceaee, Janet Wise, two ordinary, healthy kids left Denton that late November evening to visit a Doctor Everit Scott. Ex tutor and now friend to both odf them. Its true there were dark storm clouds… Heavy, black, and…[Read more]

Jaws fans July 31, 2009 7:09 pmi think everything about it really makes it the perfect blockbuster. It’s intense, has great characters, great story and the shark is iconic.
-
GREAT DATE MOVIE!!!
-
I agree with that.
-
This is my favorite horror movie, I had seen this back in the early 80′s, and it had such an affect on me and our swimming pool when I was a kid:lol:
Jaws is a great date movie, it is tastefully gory in some scenes, the score is timeless. The humor is clever but doesn’t take over the movie. -
Jaws is one of the first movies I remember watching as a child.
This movie is near perfection. John Williams’ score is one of the most iconic pieces of music in movie history. Add to the mix a truly memorable cast, terrifying scares and a giant shark and you have a classic film, a blockbuster in the true sense of the word that still runs rings…[Read more] -
This is the movie that got me into horror. I still watch it everytime they show it on tv.
-
Only a complete cunt would not like this movie.
-
Simply put, Jaws was(still is) nothing short of incredible.
-
it was a phenomenon.everyone including myself was afraid to swim at the beach for a few years.when a movie alters the behavior of the masses you know it’s good !!
-
not trying to be tough but this is the only movie to truly, truly scare me.and thats why, people like to be scared.:D

There’s a lot of cross-over with the casting…this tended to happen in all of British drama, all sorts of people would turn up! I believe that the Producer of the show in the 70′s was fascinated by the darker side of genre fiction and actively tried to make the show a little more complex and adult, hence the Hammer feeling about a number of the…[Read more]
