What’s your favorite band from 90s-present?
-
Fight
Killer’s
Bruce Dickinson
Halford
-
Mushroomhead, Mudvayne, KoЯn, and Slipknot. I’m pretty sure there are more but those are the major ones that come to mind
-
my absolute favorite band is a hardcore band out of Orange County, CA named “Bleeding Through” they combine thrash, hardcore, punk, and black metal all in one to make a uphoria of metal delights.
-
I have a soft spot for symphonic and melodic metal, my current two favorites are Kamelot and Amorphis with honorable mentions to Kiuas.
-
Slipknot.I saw them on their first tour in 2000.
-
Even though they aren’t really Metal anymore…. Tool. Opiate, Undertow, and AEnima are on another level, better than anything that has come out in the last 20 years.
My favorite metal band still going right now is Down. Slipknot, Meshuggah, Mastadon, Divine Intervention, and Shadow’s Fall are among some others.
wslyhnry…. Bleeding Through…[Read more]
-
Gotta go with Tool and Slipknot, although Tool’s recent albums remind me of sounds of the Amazon or some shit, and Slipknot went a little soft, I still listen to thier older shit. R.I.P. Paul
-
Dude Linkin Park rules. all the bands you just listed rule. What’s wrong with you. What do you like then Brittany Spears
-
Chimaira, by far is the best band of the last 10 years, Of course Pantera would take the cake for the 90s. Also gotta love Alice in Chains, Anthrax, Devildriver, Type O Negative, so on and so forth.
-
Sevendust, Limp Bizkit, KoRn, Slipknot And Killswitch Engage………..Pure Bliss! And You Can Count Linkin Park & Static-X Also!
-
Yeah OK i get what your saying but what i was kinda meaning is that those bands are metal some are Alt. Metal and some are Nu Metal. It just depends on what you the person interperts as metal, Sorry
-
Oh, and SCREAMmydarling I also like Opeth
-
Yea I’m Aware Of That! Linkin Park Is Nu-Metal While Static-X Is Industrial! But They Are The New Wave………..So Who Cares? Oh And Throw In Avenged Sevenfold Yea…..
-
Been listening to a lot of Chimaira at the moment the flame has been my ringtone for a few days now and the opening of the chick screaming certainly raises a few eyebrows on the bus to college.
-
Hahahaha……I Like That Part Too
One Question: Can Nirvana Be Called One Of The ‘New Wave’?
-
I’d say no for Nirvana, since it has been over 15 years now. And (while they were good) don’t count as metal at all
-
Allryt dadadrunkmonkey…………Anyways, Nirvana Was Cool While Kurt Cobain Lasted (R.I.P)…………And Chimaira Is OK! Murderdolls Are Great Cuz It Had/Has Joey Jordison
-
yeah R.I.P Kurt, and Paul Grey too
-
…………..And Ronnie James Dio & Peter Steele Also………..R.I.P
-
3 Legends In 2010? Seems Like A Sad Year!………Dont You Think?
-
yep 2010 is like the crow of years
-
I Agree! Not Even Half Year Went By And God Took 3 Legends Up!
Lets Hope None Others Die At Least In 2010………PLEASE GOD!
-
Well Metal Heads..Good to hear you mentioning some great bands..ive been listening to Metal music since the late 70s..and have been involved in the industry since the mid 80s But the bands that have made my ears bleed in more modern times are as follows..
The Haunted..Soilwork..inflames. The swedish scene has and is on fire!! Also..The Black…[Read more] -
Disturbed is my all time favorite band.
-
clutch, pantera, disturbed, mudvayne, godsmack, ministry, sepultura, soul fly, static x, system of a down, white zombie, coal chamber, slayer, mushroomhead, as i lay dying… theres more, just cant think of any right now.
-
Pantera, sepultura, ministry, and slayer are not a part of the “new wave”
-
I really like the new wave of American Thrash Metal. Check out Witchaven. (myspace.com/witchaven) They are awesome. Also Toxic Holocaust, Fueled By Fire, Holy Grail (trad metal but still awesome live) Warbeast.
Stuff like that I really dig.
-
I have never, and will never consider ANY of the bands such-as, but not limited to: Slipknot, Mudvayne, Disturbed, etc. as “metal”. Just stuff that kids that don’t know better listen to. Or “music to piss your parent off with”. I did the same thing, but with real metal.
So, to jump over this. My 90s and beyond bands:
Axxis, Gamma Ray, Primal…[Read more]

I would have to go with Carlos’ hearing aid death in NOES: Freddy’s Dead… It makes me laugh every time I watch it or talk about it. Robert’s movement, facial expressions, the kid’s helplessness hahaha goood shit!
What are your guys’ fav Freddy Kills?!
-
One that I really like is from NOES 3 when Freddy turns the kid into a puppet using the veins from his arms and legs. Very gruesome, very creative, very awesome.
-
How about the fountain of blood from the original movie?? not very realistic, but come on that is what Freddy is all about!!
-
in part 6, the stoner’s video game death, that was pretty epic
-
The One In The Factory…..Cant Remember Which Film…
-
one or two i think. who was it?
-
Oh Yea! Is The Original NOES! Not That Much But Kinda Cranky To Watch…….Tina Gray!
-
oh yeah
-
I agree with Mrblonde385, i think that was one of best ones.
Also really liked Freddy death in Elm Street 4

So my theory is this. In every Sawmovie we see people die, there are close-ups on people’s faces so we know they will do something in the next movie, and so on and so on… We never saw Dr. Gordon die. We see him saw off his leg, and him crawl out of the bathroom in the first one… And to my recollection, we never really hear of him in later…[Read more]

I have not scoured the films for too much evidence yet, BUT if you look at the films and the videos “Jigsaw” leaves for his patients telling them the rules etc etc, we see the doll OR Kramer, you don’t ever see anything else (that I can remember). I think in the final installment of Saw coming out this October, Saw VII, we will find out that Dr. Gordonhas been alive and helping and working in Kramers name behind the scenes and without anyone else knowing. HE is the true Jigsaw!

80′s ? jason hands down,but i like freddy too.
-
i agree sherocker how come freddy, jason and micheal stick in our minds heres another one critters, and who would f***K with the chuck defo not me lol x
-
Sherocker brings up a great point, I love fredo jason and michael but so many other come to mind as well. LOVED the Killer Klowns by the way. I must mention the machete wielding mutant twins in Just Before Dawn, the rage fueled imps of The Brood and the brain-infesting zombie making slugs from Night of the Creeps “Thrill Me! “
-
[B][COLOR="Red"]Michael Myers hands down[/COLOR][/B]

Does jaws count
-
the deadites from evil dead
-
Without a doubt it’s Jason. I grew up in the 80′s and was obsessed with Friday the 13th. I loved parts 1,2, and 3. Everything after that went to hell.
Not scary, not old fashioned dirty and gritty like the originals.
Jason in the later movies seemed to “act” to much for me. If he is going to “Take Manhattan” then, have him go to a Yankees game…[Read more] -
i agree Jason is beast

For me, it’s Freddy because he has emotion. Jason and Michael just basically lumber around.

What’s your favorite Horror flick of the 80s?
-
Mine is Friday The 13th Part IV: The Final Chapter and Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers(1988).
-
I don’t think I could narrow it down to just one. The top of my list would include Aliens, Night Of The Creeps, Nightmare On Elm Street, Re-Animator, Dolls, and Zombi 2 to name a few.
-
nightmare on elm street.
-
the scene in Friday the 13th when you can see the skin pull up with the knife going through his throat, I love that:headstab:
-
FRIDAY THE 13th-i saw it in the theatre in 1980.i love the fact that the killer is a middle-aged woman.NOW THAT’S CREEPY!!!!!!
-
Nightmare on Elm Street really scared me as a kid!
-
ANOES made me have a phobia of ham for years.:he:
-
soooo hard to name just one but for me Evil Dead 2 Dead by dawn will do nicely
-
Technically Evil Dead was made in late 79 so i’ll go with Pet Sematary 1989!
-
A Nightmare On Elm Street, Friday the 13th Part IV, The Howling, Re-Animator, Halloween III, Hellraiser.. I don’t think it’s feasibly possible to pick just one ’80s horror flick.. but if absolutely necessary, I’ll go with The Howling..
-
Hey there are a plenty Nightmare on elm street,Hellraiser,Friday 13th,House,Howling,Inferno,The Beyond,House by the Cemetery,

2. Friday the 13th part 2
3. My Bloody Valentine
4. The Burning -
DEMONS 2 !!!

Loved Friday the 13th part 2. Introduces Jason and not with a hockey mask but a pillow case with a single hole. It was Elephant Man gone crazy.
-
friday the 13th part 4
-
Nightmare on Elm Street. I remember not wanting to sleep for a looong time after watching it…
-
if i HAD to pick only one, even though friday is my all time favorite horror series, i’d have to go with Halloween 4. as a single movie, it encompasses everything perfect about the genre. with the friday movies, they are all so dope for the most part and the series itself is what makes all the individual movies so great (like wu-tang, the sum of…[Read more]

:chainsaw:

:pirate:but it probably wont happen :unamused::mad:
-
I am liking your script for it bloodypacman, I think the film can happen but for it to follow Freddy vs. Jason it should be like the comic Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash. The budget would have to be $40,000,000.
-
thanks.and i really like freddy vs jason vs ash and will pick up nightmare warriors when the trade paperback comes out.and yeah,it will need a big budget.
-
Talking bout big, big budget!!!! oh and 3-D.
-
:unamused:no 3-d:unamused:
-
fine then.
-
3-ds fine every once in a while.what have my bloody valentine 09 and the final destination started?
-
My Bloody Valentine 3D was good in 3-D, The Final Destination not so much…
-
once again,i agree on no 3d.tcm and halloween are enough.
-
That would be sweet! love Jason and Michael
-
Michael vs. Jason would be AWESOME!!!! They’re similar in a few ways. Too bad it will never happen. =( And GOD NO 3-D!!! It’s really starting to get old and it ruins potentially good horror movies, The Final Destination does not count because it was going to suck with or without 3-D.
-
Why not? I’d go see it even if it was in 3D…besides they always release a 2D version on DVD later!;)
-
Anyone like the Freddy vs Jason vs Ash comic?

hell, yeah dude

That is a great question! As a fan of J.C.’s Mike Myers, I would really like to see a more remake about The Shape and have it be truly scary and make you have nightmares. Okay, maybe not the nightmares part, but true tension and suspense laden scenes.
On the other hand, I really enjoyed Zombies take on the Halloween franchise and want to see a…[Read more]

I personally think Rob Zombie’s version of Halloween was a howler and was more of a Friday the 13th movie than a Hallloween movie.
-
i think Rob Zombie just tried to make him more human as opposed to being an unexplainible killing machine all the shots michael took in the remake all had credibillity of missing a vital organ exept for the end he goes out like a baddass instead of slipping away down a mine shaft and down a stream.

Dont get me wrong though, i love the origianals wayyy better.
