First one was 90 minutes of complete chaos…and I loved it.

I made sure to buy and watch the original before seeing the RZ version. Doing that made me anxious for the redo because I was curious as to how RZ would depict Michael’s life in the hospital. I did enjoy the story he made. And I’m looking forward to the sequel.

House is an o.k. movie, but what i like most was the fact that is also gave us some original music too. TDR was definitely the best. I just loved the final scene. Everything about it was great.

ya, thats what im saying. i prefer to hear the authentic voices and have the lips sync with the audio. if i dont understand, thats what the subs are for.

too fast and spastic for me. either be slow and twitchy like Romero’s or be fast like the Dawn redo.

what surprises me about these is that they are so good, i dont mind doing subtitles (i hate audio dubbing–ever since godzilla, i have hated it)

a lot of remakes (not just horror) are, i believe better than the original. if for no other reason, because there is more story put into it. on the other hand, without the original, we would have never had a kick ass redo.

yup, my thoughts got confused there. it is great that Romero keep true to his beliefs about slow zombies, but i did enjoy the runners that Snyder put in. on the other hand, i hated the ones that the Day of the Dead remake had.

the movie caught me completely off guard and i absolutely loved it. just as funny and gory as Evil Dead/AoD ever was.

i like the fast zombies myself. the slow ones are classic, but the fast ones are more descriptive of the zombie evolution that Romero he created with the 5 of the Dead movies.

well, we have Dunstan and Melton. i may get heat for this, but give Rob Zombie some credit. all of his stuff has been original (minus Halloween). The first 2 he did were purely his own. Halloween was taking the established characters and tweaking the story to his vision. and now H2 is his own sequel to his redo. it is NOT a redo of the original H2.

too true. but honestly, i prefer a movie like Manhunt or Inside or High Tension to Martyrs. dont get me wrong, i did enjoy Martyrs, just not as much as I have other french flicks.

Darkness Falls was a very pleasant surprise. (wouldnt it be cool to see Guillermo del Toro do that?) Unfortunately, i have not yet seen the other two. i think though, that insanitarium is in the netflix queue. Black Christmas? as in the movie that got remade a couple years back? which one is better, redo or original?

geeze, french brutality does not stop. i recently watched Manhunt/Rovdyr and, wow. Villmark is next on my list, what did you guys think of either of these?

MrD, I’m somewhat surprised that you have negativity towards Predators. I would think that Robert Rodriguez/Troublemaker producing would be good news?

today, French wins hands down. BUT, America has had some great recents- Hills Have Eyes, The Strangers, Hostel, Rob Zombie’s movies, Hatchet, Feast, SAW.
Back in the 70s and 80s, you had some of the classics- The Shining, Freddy, Michael, Jason, Pinhead, Leatherface.
