This is good news for the “DEMONIC” faithful. Top Cow Comics is reporting that the first printings of Robert Kirkman’s (“MARVEL ZOMBIES”, “THE WALKING DEAD”) “PILOT SEASON” has followed in the footsteps of its predecessor, “MURDERER”, and sold out nationwide! After the initial success of “MURDERER” many were wondering if there was going to be a no contest, but it looks like Kirkman and Co have a monster on their hands. Read on for the full pres release! “Top Cow Productions, Inc. proudly announced today that following the path of Pilot Season: Murderer #1, the second installment of the 2009 Pilot Season, Pilot Season: Demonic #1, has also sold out at the distributor level.

”It’s really exciting to see the reactions of fans, reviewers, and retailers for the new Pilot Season concepts,” commented Top Cow Publisher Filip Sablik. “We really appreciate the retailer support for another immediate sellout.”

From the creative minds of Image Comics partners Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead, Invincible) and Top Cow founder Marc Silvestri (X-Men/Dark Avengers: Utopia, The Darkness), Pilot Season: Demonic #1 is 32 paged-look into the story of Scott Graves and his inner demon. Unfortunately for Scott, his demon manifests itself in his real life. Written by Kirkman and featuring art from Top Cow alumni Joe Benitez (Soulfire, The Darkness), Scott’s demon is only satiated when Scott kills. In a conflicted Faustian bargain, Scott will continue to kill as long as the demon promises not to make him kill his wife and daughter. Stalking the night as Demonic, a vigilante known for savagely slaughtering the wicked, Scott must asks himself how long can he continue living this way and if the demon is in fact real.

Top Cow Productions, Inc. plans to digitally release the comic through channels set up with partnered digital content producers for fans to catch up.

Up next for Pilot Season 2009 is Pilot Season: Stealth #1, set to hit stores in March. Written by Kirkman and featuring art from Top Cow studio artist Sheldon Mitchell (Trinity: Blood on the Sands, WItchblade: Annual), Pilot Season: Stealth #1 centers on the story of Todd Carey whose life is falling apart on him. While recovering from a nasty divorce, he learns that his daughter is flunking out of college and his father has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Even though he is unable to really take care of himself, Todd allows his father to move in with him. What Todd doesn’t know is that his father is the masked vigilante Stealth, and has been his entire life. Stealth has many enemies and his erratic behavior could easily get him killed – and all these troubles fall squarely in Todd’s lap.”

‘Witchblade’ is Getting Resurrected This Summer in New Comic Series from Top Cow and Image Comics

Witchblade, the popular comic series that initially ran from 1995 to 2015 and launched a TV series, is getting resurrected in a new comic series from Top Cow and Image Comics. It’s set to unleash heavy metal, black magic and blood this summer.

Look for the new Witchblade series to launch on July 17, 2024.

In Witchblade #1, “New York City Police Detective Sara Pezzini’s life was forever fractured by her father’s murder. Cold, cunning, and hellbent on revenge, Sara now stalks a vicious criminal cabal beneath the city, where an ancient power collides and transforms her into something wild, magnificent, and beyond her darkest imaginings. How will Sara use this ancient power, or will she be consumed by it?”

The series is penned by NYT Best-Selling writer Marguerite Bennett (AnimosityBatwomanDC Bombshells) and visualized by artist Giuseppe Cafaro (Suicide SquadPower RangersRed Sonja). The creative duo is working with original co-creator Marc Silvestri, who is the CEO of Top Cow Productions Inc. and one of the founders of Image Comics. They are set to reintroduce the series to Witchblade’s enduring fans with “a reimagined origin with contemporary takes on familiar characters and new story arcs that will hook new readers and rekindle the energy and excitement that fueled the 90’s Image Revolution that shaped generations of top creators.”

Bennett said in a statement, “The ability to tell a ferocious story full of monsters, sexuality, vision, and history was irresistible.” She adds, “Our saga is sleek, vicious, ferocious, and has a lot to say about power in the 21st century and will be the first time that we are stopping the roller coaster to let more people on. I’ve loved Witchblade since I was a child, and there is truly no other heroine like Sara with such an iconic legacy and such a rich, brutal relationship to her own body.”

“The Witchblade universe is being modernized to reflect how Marguerite beautifully explores the extreme sides of Sara through memories, her personal thoughts, like desire and hunger, in her solitude and when she is possessed by the Witchblade. So, I had to visually intersect a noir True Detective-like world with a supernatural, horror world that is a fantastic mix between Berserk and Zodiac,” Cafaro stated.

Marc Silvestri notes, “This is brand new mythology around Sara, and I can’t wait for you to fall in love with her and all the twists and turns. Discover Witchblade reimagined this summer, and join us as we bring all the fun of the 90s to the modern age and see how exciting comics can be. I can’t wait for you to read this new series.”
