  • I had a great time at the weekend of horrors 2009, has anyone heard whats going on with the convention. Is it ever coming back?

    • I think what you want to research is Flashback Weekend 2011. That seems to be the one that comes to Chicago. So many actors to be there this year such as Robert England, Kane Hodder…The list goes on!

    • I think I came across a link for flashback weekend too. It sounds like an awesome time I am definitely gonna try to make it out. Is this the one at a drive in ?

    • No, I know what your talking about, but it’s definitely not that drive in. It’s actually about 10-15 mins west of the loop around the Rosemont area. It takes place at a hotel. Kinda small compared to your average convention, yet it’s still horror paradise when you walk in. I wanted all the merchandise.

    • Nice nice, im gonna go for sure. i live like five minutes from rosemont. I checked the website and i guess the thing at the midway drive in is also called flashback weekend, and its run by the same people. They play 35mm horror flicks and have celebrity guests all year long

    • Yeah, the Midway Drive-In would be a thing to do, but I think it’s kind of a drive if I’m not mistaking.

Anyways, I’m not sure if I making it this year to Flashback. I’m saving up all my money for Texas this Halloween. Then when I get there, were supposed to eat dinner at the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre house as it’s now a restaurant. I…[Read more]

    • Wow that would definitely be cool enough in my book. I didn’t know it was now a restaurant, that’s pretty awesome.

We just bought “Beetlejuice” last night and we had no idea Tim Burton directed this film!!

We cannot wait to watch and laugh our butts off!! Michael Keaton rocks in this film. Its from 1988 and Danny Elfman wrote the music.

I could do a thread on Mr. Elfman alone.:D:cool:

I’ve met Tom twice at Fango, but this last time, he was acting like a bit of a prick.

It was towards the end of the convention in NYC and no one was stopping by his booth anymore, so I figured I’d swing by and ask him how his film production workshop was going. He just answered real briefly and turned away from me like I was somehow pestering…[Read more]

    • I have also met Tom many time he can be a real douche, but if you really get to know him he’s a cool guy. Most people won’t get the time to see this side of him, cause he’s a cock to most of the people he meets.

    • I love the guy’s work from around 20+ years ago, but who is he to be acting like a prick? Maybe that’s why there were so few people at his booth.

    • There is only one time i have seen him at a convention and he seemed pretty happy. while i was there someone asked him to crack a whip he had with him and he did. Iwas right next to him and i didn’t know he was going to crack the whip. he did and it scared the crap out of me

    • It is hard for me to pick from the first couple of years but Scooby-Doo Where are you season one: Which Witch is Which. Just classic Scooby-Doo. But Scooby-Doo is in my top 5 all time favorite cartoons along with anything by Tex Avery, Tom and Jerry etc…..

    • its pretty difficult to decide on just one but I did like the 1st episode that has the creeper.

    • WHAT THE HEX GOING ON? – creepiest episode of all time!

    • i really dnt have a fav. but i liked STINKWEED in a pup named scooby doo. and in The Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo series it was The ghoul, the bat and the ugly with the shadow creature. That episode creeped the fuck out of me when i was a kid.

i think everything about it really makes it the perfect blockbuster. It’s intense, has great characters, great story and the shark is iconic.

    • GREAT DATE MOVIE!!!

    • I agree with that.

    • This is my favorite horror movie, I had seen this back in the early 80′s, and it had such an affect on me and our swimming pool when I was a kid:lol:
Jaws is a great date movie, it is tastefully gory in some scenes, the score is timeless. The humor is clever but doesn’t take over the movie.

    • Jaws is one of the first movies I remember watching as a child.
This movie is near perfection. John Williams’ score is one of the most iconic pieces of music in movie history. Add to the mix a truly memorable cast, terrifying scares and a giant shark and you have a classic film, a blockbuster in the true sense of the word that still runs rings…[Read more]

    • This is the movie that got me into horror. I still watch it everytime they show it on tv.

    • Only a complete cunt would not like this movie.

    • Simply put, Jaws was(still is) nothing short of incredible.

    • it was a phenomenon.everyone including myself was afraid to swim at the beach for a few years.when a movie alters the behavior of the masses you know it’s good !!

    • not trying to be tough but this is the only movie to truly, truly scare me.and thats why, people like to be scared.:D
