Honestly, wouldn’t expect a Troma release to have any improvements anyway… lol. I found an old movie that I remember scaring the hell out of me as a kid on VHS recently..

Definitely had to pick that up.. weird thing, I never actually knew what that movie was. I just remembered it as that crazy movie with Randy Quaid. Then I came across it,…[Read more]

I still do some horror VHS shopping. Dirt malls are awesome for such things. Mostly looking for obscure stuff that didn’t get put on DVD when that shift came… you definitely find some pretty awesome stuff for really cheap, though.

A Nightmare On Elm Street, Friday the 13th Part IV, The Howling, Re-Animator, Halloween III, Hellraiser.. I don’t think it’s feasibly possible to pick just one ’80s horror flick.. but if absolutely necessary, I’ll go with The Howling..

I don’t know.. the general consensus seems to be Pinhead, and I’ll probably have to agree. However, I think the ultimate grudge match would be Jason Voorhees vs. Michael Myers. Both unstoppable, both pure evil, and both have a similar demeanor when it comes to stalking their victims.. Michael just seems to be more calculative while Jason just…[Read more]

Leslie Vernon is amazing, as far as new faces go. But agreed, the world needs someone (or some) fresh that’ll keep the mainstream audiences sucked in too. If BtM:TRoLV would’ve gotten more mainstream exposure, I have no doubt he could have pulled it off.

..and for the record, thought Victor Crowley was awesome. Go death-by-powersander![Read more]

This looks like a pretty dead post, but I’m going go ahead and post anyway.. The atmosphere you’re trying to create in the film should dictate the music. If you’re going for a backwoods-catch-’em-rape-’n-torture-’em-kill-’em bloodfest, a little bluegrass would definitely bring the necessary vibe, if you’re going for a post-’70′s…[Read more]
