I want to ask what you think John Carpenter’s worst film is?
Now, I’ve got to make it clear first, that I’m a big fan of Carpenter’s work on the whole. I consider his greatest to be ‘Assault on Precinct 13′ (1976), ‘Halloween’ (1978), ‘The Fog’ (1980), and ‘The Thing’ (1982). I also like ‘Escape from New York’ (1981), ‘Christine’ (1983), ‘Big…[Read more]

This is without a doubt the best film made, in my opinion. Check out my review for more. View‘Halloween’ (1978), is not only my favorite John Carpenter film, but my all time favorite horror film. If I had to choose out of all the movies I love in the genre – this would be my number 1! I know it like the back of my hand! BD Predator Fan Club 3 years, 9 months agoI love the original. But I’ve always thought, while not as good, that ‘Predator 2′ is a decent follow up; a worthy sequel. Much better than the piss poor AVP spin offs anyway! Well, what do you lot think?
-
I always liked the sequel. It was a follow up that had a completely different feel to it which was cool.
Speaking of which I was in Santa Monica a coupla days ago and whilst walking along the beach some guy stuck his head out from one of the beach front apartments…it was Gary Busey. :he: -
:he::he: Nice!!
I’ve always liked the sequel. It’s lacking in the Arnie department, but it’s got great sequences. I love the
meat locker scene. -
Hell yes ! Predator 2 is a more than worthy sequel in my opinion. It had an overall different feel to the first but I thought it was great that they had the Predator going after gangs. The opening battle is a standout, as are all the other set pieces, especially the meat freezer and subsequent chase across the cityscapes. Bring on the 3rd movie !
-
It’s a worthy follow-up, not as good as the first movie though. What I like are the new predator weapons. Some of the action scenes are a bit cheesy (the first shootout for example) and the setting; LA 1997 (lol).
-
its a decent sequel not great, but memorable.

yea it was good !from a real jungle to the concrete jungle !cant wait for the avp game coming out in 2010!!:chainsaw::chainsaw::chainsaw::chainsaw:

Predator 2 while not in the same league as T2 or Aliens etc.. Is still a good film. To cut to the chase, here’s a list of positives and negatives.

The claustrophobic suspense of the original was sacrificed by the urban setting.

I really enjoyed the original; one of the better slashers so far of the 21st century. I had very low expectations for it, despite the hype at the time; Tobe Hooper has mostly made god awful horror films. Two great exceptions are of course the classics, ‘TCM’ and Poltergeist. But I was…[Read more]

I agree. I remember when I was hesitant about seeing They Live because it didn’t look that good but loved it when I saw it. I figured it would be the same for Ghosts of Mars. ‘Ghosts of Mars’ was amazing to me the first time I saw it because I didn’t know what real horror was then but now that I looked back on it… it was God awful.
I agree, Ghosts of Mars by far is his worst work.
Im gonna say Vampires. I know others will disagree but for me the movie had way more potential and most of it didnt make it to the screen.
‘Vampires’ is by no means a good film. But I think it’s made watchable for the brilliant performance by the great, James Woods. Other that though, it’s definitely one of John Carpenter’s worst. But it’s just about passable entertainment compared to ‘Ghosts of Mars’, which is just totally unwatchable!
I think Carpenter Nation agrees almost unanimously, Ghosts of Mars.
Well, I’d have to agree pretty much, his later films have definite decline in quality. ‘Ghosts’ was horrible. Ice Cube is horrible.
Ghost of Mars has to be the worst of his movies but by no means the worst movie ever made. I just hate thinking there is a worst for him.
GHOSTS OF MARS his worst?
You’ve gotta be fucking kidding.
Funny that people cream all over mark-missing crap like GRINDHOUSE but cant tell the real thing when a master of that type of film plops it in their laps.

Ghosts Of Mars
I would have to agree Ghosts of Mars but I like Ghosts of Mars. I just hold his films to such high standards and all of his other films are so great. That even a movie that I like has to be his worst. That just means that I like all of his work.
I can’t say that i have hated any of his films, but i haven’t seen Ghosts Of Mars, so i guess it’s that
I love Ghosts Of Mars. Memoirs Of An Invisible Man gets my vote as his worst film. Escape From LA is his most disappointing work. Great score though:

tough call !
Ghost of Mars
Ghosts was pretty bad I agree….but Ice Cube cannot compare to the sheer awfulness of Chevy Chase in Memoirs of an Invisible Man by far and away my least fave Carpenter
