We definitely do not need a remake of Nineteen Eighty-Four. It would be a piece of crap. The 1984 version is perfect. John Hurt was the perfect actor to play Winston Smith.

Because too many horror movies use cgi nowadays and bland pretty actors. They don’t have the spooky atmosphere that they used to. Also, you have the cheesiness of older movies (especially 80′s) which adds to the fun.
