Ron Perlman to Channel His Inner Lovecraft Deity in ‘Howard Lovecraft and the Frozen Kingdom’

Published

Ron Perlman is bringing his strong voice to the world of H.P. Lovecraft as it’s been confirmed by Deadline that the actor will be voicing “Shoggoth” in the animated feature Howard Lovecraft and the Frozen Kingdom. Christopher Plummer has also been confirmed and will be voicing the role of Dr. Herbert West. Yes, the Dr. Herbert West that inspired Jeffrey Combs’ character from Re-Animator.

The movie, which is being done by both Sean Patrick O’Reilly (CEO of Arcana Studios) and Shout! Factory, is based on the graphic novel of the same name by Bruce Brown.

According to Deadline, the movie will mix a biography of a young H.P. Lovecraft with his writings but in a more family-friendly manner. Sounds like something almost akin to Paranorman or Coraline, although that’s just me speculating with the given information.

Shout! Factory has been a bastion of horror goodness for a long time, so seeing them create something original is really exciting! They obviously have their heart in the right place, so I’m itching to see how this turns out!
