Scream! Factory Announces ‘The Thing’ Collector’s Edition!

Scream! Factory has just announced that they will be releasing a 2-disc Blu-ray collector’s edition of John Carpenter’s The Thing this September and they promise that it will have extras, new artwork, and more!

We are truly honored to have the chance to pay the ultimate respect for this popular and iconic film. Release date is planned for September. Stay tuned to this page within the next week for all the details including new artwork extras and more.

Scream! Factory has released some of the very best in horror home video over the past few years, including Nightbreed, Army of Darkness, Tales From the Crypt: Demon Knight, Lord of Illusions, and much, much more. To know that they are going to give their treatment to The Thing is wildly exciting! Their passion and extra care that they put into each release is second to none.

Gateway Horror Classic ‘The Gate’ Returns to Life With Blu-ray SteelBook in May

One of my personal favorite horror movies of all time, 1987’s gateway horror classic The Gate is opening back up on May 14 with a brand new Blu-ray SteelBook release from Lionsgate!

The new release will feature fresh SteelBook artwork from Vance Kelly, seen below.

When best friends Glen (Stephen Dorff) and Terry (Louis Tripp) stumble across a mysterious crystalline rock in Glen’s backyard, they quickly dig up the newly sodden lawn searching for more precious stones. Instead, they unearth The Gate — an underground chamber of terrifying demonic evil. The teenagers soon understand what evil they’ve released as they are overcome with an assortment of horrific experiences. With fiendish followers invading suburbia, it’s now up to the kids to discover the secret that can lock The Gate forever . . . if it’s not too late.
