New ‘Morgan’ Trailer Cherishes the Old While Fearing the New
A new trailer for the upcoming sci-fi horror/thriller Morgan has been released and this one focuses on establishing the title character as an innocent, playful, and curious child before growing up into a murderous aberration of genetic manipulation. That may have come off a bit more harsh than intended…
In the film from producer Ridley Scott, which has a strong Alien vibe, “A corporate risk-management consultant has to decide and determine whether or not to terminate an artificial being’s life that was made in a laboratory environment.”
Morgan stars Kate Mara (“American Horror Story”), Anya Taylor-Joy (The Witch), Rose Leslie, Boyd Holbrook, and Paul Giamatti. Ridley Scott, Michael Schaefer, and Mark Huffam will all be acting as producers.
The film was directed by Luke Scott and will be released on September 2nd, 2016.
Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day, Freaky) is staying busy here in 2024, directing not only the werewolf movie Big Bad but also an upcoming thriller titled Drop.
The project for Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes is being described as a “fast-paced thriller,” and Deadline reports today that Violett Beane (Truth or Dare) has joined the cast.
Newcomer Jacob Robinson has also signed on to star in the mysterious thriller. Previously announced, Meghann Fahy (“White Lotus”) will be leading the cast.
Landon recently teased on Twitter, “This is my love letter to DePalma.”
Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach wrote the script.
Michael Bay, Jason Blum, Brad Fuller and Cameron Fuller — “who brought the script in to Platinum Dunes” — are producing the upcoming Drop. Sam Lerner is an executive producer.
THR notes, “The film is a Platinum Dunes and Blumhouse production for Universal.”
