Adria Arjona, the star of the upcoming NBC series “Emerald City”, has officially joined the war against the Kaiju in Legendary’s Pacific Rim 2. She joins the confirmed cast of John Boyega, Scott Eastwood, Jing Tian and Cailee Spaeny, according to Deadline.
Boyega is confirmed to be playing the son of Marshal Stacker Pentecost, who was played by Idris Elba. Charlie Hunnam, who played Raleigh Beckett in the first film, dropped out due to scheduling conflicts.
In the 2013 film that was directed by Guillermo del Toro (read our review), as a war between humankind and monstrous sea creatures wages on, a former pilot and a trainee are paired up to drive a seemingly obsolete special weapon in a desperate effort to save the world from the apocalypse.
The film is written by Derek Connolly and will be directed by Steven S. DeKnight. It is set to come out February 23rd, 2018.
