Pretty Much Everything is a Wasteland in the New ‘Resident Evil: The Final Chapter’ Trailer

A new trailer AND poster for the upcoming horror action film Resident Evil: The Final Chapter have come online and the trailer reveals three things: 1) they still love Guns N Roses, 2) it’s set in a wasteland where everything can explode and, 3) it reveals how Alice will try to end Umbrella’s global infection once and for all. Turns out there is an airborne anti-virus back at the Hive in Raccoon City, so it’s up to her and a few of her pals to venture into the belly of the beast for one last shot at saving humanity.

Picking up immediately after the events in Resident Evil: Retribution, Alice (Milla Jovovich) is the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity’s final stand against the undead. Now, she must return to where the nightmare began – The Hive in Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse.

I didn’t really need any more encouragement to make me want to see this, but you’ve given it to me anyway. Can’t wait until Jan. 27! (It looks like the shotgun that fires shells filled with quarters is returning also. How cool is that?)

Damn this trailer was SEXY. Sony is killing it with Resident Evil and Underworld right now.
Still hoping that Jill and Chris are being kept under wraps and will make quick appearances toward the end! *fingers crossed*

    • Matt

I hope you are right. I’m thinking that if we do see them, it will be in a scene where they meet their doom in the beginning.

      • Khy

I just want my Jill back! *sobs*
Either way, this looks amazing. I LOVE the gritty nasty look and atmosphere. This is in 3D right?

        • Matt

          Not positive, but I don’t think it’s in 3D.

        • Matt

Scratch that, I was thinking Underworld. Yes 3D and Imax.

          • Khy

Beautiful! Underworld is in 3D too!
            I haven’t been to a 3D movie since…Texas CHAINSAW I think(ew).
            Gonna be a blast!

          • Matt

I haven’t been since Freddy’s Dead! BTW, I noticed in an older post you said you’re from Illinois. Me too, we could be neighbors!

          • Khy

Yup. I’m in the burbs outside of Chicago. Chicagoland.

          • Matt

I was born in Chicago. Lived in several of the burbs as a kid. Now I live not far from Rockford.

          • Khy

My sister lives in Rockford. Haha! I live in Elgin. Small world! Wow

          • Matt

            No shit!

        • J Jett

Khy, apparently Paul Anderson revealed that the movie’s 3D was post-converted.

  • I know these are Marmite movies, but I fucking love ’em and I can’t wait!

  • J Jett

i loved the first 4 RE films but RETRIBUTION was so atrocious that i thought i’d never want to see another Alice/RE movie again (it was THAT bad! lol) but this final movie looks awesome! i’m not happy that Jill, Chris and to a certain extent Leon, Ada and Becky aren’t in the film but everything else about the movie looks great!

  • Peter Johnson

Okay, in watching this, I’ve seen multiple different action scenes, creatures, zombie attacks, and glorious shots (that overhead when Alice is on the bike). Even the cinematography looks much better and grittier than the last 2 films. Apocalypse and Extinction were my favorites, but this one looks like it might be the best. My favorite part? I didn’t see one slow-mo action sequence in this trailer. This might be the first Resident Evil movie I decide to watch in theaters . I am so fracking excited for this.

  • Dave ‘Wilko’ Wilkinson

All I can say is thank fuck Capcom is still making CGI Resi movies to counteract this godawful series.

    • Matt

Some of us love and appreciate both.

      • Dave ‘Wilko’ Wilkinson

Good for you. Still think the live-action series is utter garbage, on almost every level.

  • Blade4693

Yeah im still holding out for Jill and Ada to be in, I love those charcaters.

Anyway looking good so far imo, can’t wait!

    • J Jett

Blade, Bing Bing was definitely not asked to return to play Ada. i’m praying there’s a nice surprise at the end where Sienna’s Jill, Wentworth’s Chris (Went was rumored to be on set for 1 day but it could just be a rumor) show up and Claire, Doc (who Claire has a romance with as seen in the above trailer), Alice, Chris and Jill are the survivors.

    • Im really hoping for a Kmart return too

  • Evan3

Does she have super-powers anymore? I guess the answer is, it doesn’t really matter. Good riddance to this series.

  • This looks so fucking sick. I really hope this version is longer than the rest considering it’s been years in the making and is the last one (which they always say….) Still, I can’t wait to see this!
