Jason Eisener is Going For ‘One Last Dive’

Hobo With a Shotgun‘s Jason Eisener, who just came off working on Adam Wingard and Netflix’s Death Note, will next direct an untitled thriller for 20th Century Fox with Wes Ball’s Oddball Entertainment and Jeremy Platt’s Plattform producing, says Variety.

The film is inspired by Eisener’s “One Last Dive” short film (below), which he directed and co-wrote with Rob Cotterill and John Davies. The short centered on a diver investigating an underwater crime scene but remaining details about the feature film have yet to be released.

Besides directing Rutger Hauer in 2011’s Hobo with a Shotgun, Eisener’s credits include V/H/S/2 and The ABCs of Death.

Lewaa Nasserdeen (“The Real O’Neals,” “The Goldbergs”) is writing the script. Jason Young is overseeing the project for the studio.

‘Drop’ – Violett Beane Joins the Cast of Christopher Landon’s New Thriller

Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day, Freaky) is staying busy here in 2024, directing not only the werewolf movie Big Bad but also an upcoming thriller titled Drop.

The project for Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes is being described as a “fast-paced thriller,” and Deadline reports today that Violett Beane (Truth or Dare) has joined the cast.

Newcomer Jacob Robinson has also signed on to star in the mysterious thriller. Previously announced, Meghann Fahy (“White Lotus”) will be leading the cast.

Landon recently teased on Twitter, “This is my love letter to DePalma.”

Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach wrote the script.

Michael Bay, Jason Blum, Brad Fuller and Cameron Fuller — “who brought the script in to Platinum Dunes” — are producing the upcoming Drop. Sam Lerner is an executive producer.

THR notes, “The film is a Platinum Dunes and Blumhouse production for Universal.”
