Hear ‘The Bye Bye Man’ Freakishly Grumble His Name in this Final Trailer

STX has just sent us the final trailer for The Bye Bye Man, in theaters Friday the 13th, January 2017.

The Bye Bye Man recounts a series of terrifying events experienced by three Wisconsin college students, played by Douglas Smith, Cressida Bonas and Lucien Laviscount. Michael Trucco plays the brother of one the students, whose mind has been invaded by the unstoppable Bye Bye Man (Doug Jones). The final trailer makes the rules clear, repeating them over and over, although I believe this is the first time we’ve heard the low grumbles of the title character. Could we have a new horror icon on our hands?!

The Bye Bye Man also stars Carrie-Anne Moss and Faye Dunaway.

Stacy Title directed from Jonathan Penner’s script, based on Robert Damon Schneck’s short story “The Bridge to Body Island.” Trevor Macy produced for Intrepid, and Jeffrey Soros and Simon Horsman produced for Los Angeles Media Fund.

  • I still stand by what I said months and months ago, ‘The Bye Bye Man’ is a dumb name.

Between this and Lord of Tears, it’s pretty laughable at how much this wants to be a Slenderman film but can’t be due to legality.

Lord of Tears had some great atmosphere to it. This just looks terrible.

  • The trailer is good, I hope the movie be great.
I don’t know why, but I imagine the film ending with the main character dying in world trade center disaster, like the ending of SPOILERS-SPOILERS-Remember Me-SPOILERS-SPOILERS.

Looks like an awful movie to me.

“The sequel, the Kootchie Koo Lady, is already in development,” said VP for Marketing Aviva Schnurrman.
