Can you feel it, guys? The subtle warmth breaking its way through the February cold to your heart. The butterflies swelling in your belly. You can almost hear soft murmurs whispered between lovers, and the unmistakable blood-curdling screams. It’s almost Valentine’s Day!!! Today on World of Death we have a couple of touching, affection-filled films for your viewing pleasure.
First up we have Gus Krieger’s MARMALADE, where a jilted lover finally has the chance to have a romantic tea date with the girl of his dreams. Marmalade’s creep factor is so subtle and understated at first, but really packs a blender full of terror by the end… literally. This could be one of my favourite WOD films yet!
Next up in MATCHMAKER directed by Jeff Chitty, we meet a timid girl, nervous about a blind date set up by the titular matchmaker. Only to find that the girl’s services were a little bit more sinister than expected. The intensity in the matchmaker’s performance was dare I say… killer.
Cuddle up with that someone special, light some candles and turn the lights down low, because we’re about to get formidable with ya! And don’t forget to share this episode with your less than savoury friends.
