Last week we reported that Cloverfield’s Lizzy Caplan will battle new extraterrestrials opposite Michael Pena in Universal and Good Universe’s sci-fi thriller Extinction. Bling Ring actor Israel Broussard, will next be seen in the Blumhouse thriller Half to Death, has joined the duo, says Variety, although his role is not detailed.
Caplan will play Pena’s wife in the film, which follows a man trying to save his family from an alien invasion.
Ben Young, who saw his Hounds of Love premiere at SXSW, directs from a screenplay by Eric Heisserer (who was most recently nominated for his script on Arrival), Spenser Cohen and Bradley Caleb Kane.
Todd Lieberman and David Hoberman of Mandeville will produce. Mandeville’s Alexander Young of will executive produce, alongside Nathan Kahane and Joe Drake of Good Universe (Don’t Breathe, Juno). Anna Halberg, will serve as co-producer.
