The Star of ‘Revenge’ is Such a Badass Babe!

Coralie Fargeat is taking aim at the Toronto International Film Festival with her thrilling Revenge, which will world premiere in their Midnight Madness program.

Written by Fargeat, the story sees “three wealthy, middle-aged CEOs – all married family men – get together for their annual hunting game in a desert canyon. It’s a way for them to let off steam and affirm their manhood with guns. But this time, one of them has come along with his young mistress, a sexy Lolita who quickly arouses the interest of the two others… Things get out of hand… Left for dead in the middle of this arid hell, the young woman comes back to life, and the hunting game turns into a ruthless manhunt…”

The “sexy Lolita” is Rings star Matilda Anna Ingrid Lutz, who is depicted kicking serious ass in these brand new images, provided by Bloody reader Fabien M.

With a sort of outdoor Hostel vibe, I can’t wait to see her kick some CEO ass!

I bet she can throw men 2.5x her weight with ease, punch with the force of the Hulk, shoot weaponary with the accuracy of a skilled marksman straight after picking the gun up, jump mountains in a single bound – wait that’s another film, dye her hair blonde, tie a piece of cloth around her forehead and Magyver all kinds of traps.

I don’t know about this… The problem with those revenge films often is that the woman “needs” to be raped, killed, etc. to recognize her strength. It rarely happens that she’s just a strong character without men triggering her development. I really hope it’s done differently here but “things get out of hand” and “left for dead” already sounds like the same all over again.

The way this entire article was written, including the headline, made me want to punch someone.

I’m kind of surprised they don’t have two other women to be the sacrificial lambs but maybe they just don’t warrant a mention. I agree, it’s all very problematic.

You don’t like the genre, don’t watch it. OR, go to film school and then make your own version that you do want to see.

      • Lady Bathory

I like the revenge genre. That’s why I don’t want it ruined by misogynist cliches. And I’m sorry to tell you but what I watch and don’t watch is none of your concern.

I hate this philosophy. You don’t like it? SHUT UP. Maybe sometimes people would like to watch a flick with a different take on things without being told “Make your own movie then.”

          You’re funny. LOL
