If your comment was deleted and you believe that was in error, DO NOT complain in the comments section. Email us at social@bloody-disgusting.com and we can tell you why it was deleted or restore the comment if it was deleted by mistake.

Certain words will automatically flag a comment for review by a moderator because they’re frequently used by trolls and spam accounts.

Bloody Disgusting reserves the right to remove comments and users from our discussions for any reason at any time. Our goal is to encourage and foster a welcoming atmosphere for horror fans to come together and discuss the movies that we love. If you’re a consistently negative presence in the community expect that your account will be banned. As the community grows in size our tolerance for those who continually derail threads shrinks.

First, some very basic and pretty much universal community rules. These types of posts are not allowed:

  • Targeted harassment or encouraging others to do so
Hate speech and other forms of targeted and systematic harassment of people have no place on Disqus, nor do we tolerate communities dedicated to fostering harassing behavior.
  • Spam
Examples include 1) comments posted in large quantities to promote a product or service, 2) the exact same comment posted repeatedly to disrupt a thread. 3) following users multiple times
  • Impersonation
You may not impersonate others in a manner that does or is intended to mislead, confuse, or deceive others.
  • Direct threat of harm
This covers active threats of harm directed towards a specific person or defined group of individuals. Contact local authorities if you feel a crime has been committed or is imminent.
  • Posting personally identifiable information
Examples of protected information: credit card number, home/work address, phone number, email address, social security number. Real name isn’t currently covered.
  • Inappropriate profile content
Graphic media containing violence and pornographic content are not allowed. Profile content allowed by Disqus may not be allowed on all communities, so report such profiles to the site moderator.

Now let’s get into some of our own community guidelines.

1. Everyone should feel at home here and be able to express their opinions.

If you disagree with someone, either BD staff or a commenter, that’s fine. In fact, we LOVE when you disagree with us. We EXPECT that you’ll disagree with us and we want all sides represented in a conversation. Tell us we’re wrong and why, bring it on… but the moment you start attacking someone personally we’re going to draw the line and comments will be deleted. Fight opinions, not people.

If you don’t like another community member, block or mute them. It’s like a magic wand that makes people disappear.

2. Hate speech of any kind will not be tolerated.

We’re not here to censor anybody, but we won’t stand for any sort of hate speech and you will be banned. No exceptions. I shouldn’t have to tell you what qualifies as hate speech, but if you wouldn’t stand up in a public place and say it, maybe don’t say it here.

3. Don’t post anything extremely NSFW or illegal

Repeated posts about how to pirate content or get around copyrighted material will result in your account being banned.

Obviously a lot of what we post about here at BD is NSFW. We do typically try to give you a warning when something is a bit extreme even for us, but please use common sense here.

4. General shitposting

While sometimes entertaining, shitposts also often end up derailing conversations. In general, ask yourself “am I contributing to this conversation in any way?”. If not, it’s probably a shitpost and maybe try something else. We do encourage you to be weird, funny, expansive, controversial, etc… but in an effort to keep threads on track we’ll use our best judgement and remove posts when necessary.

5. Don’t feed the trolls

I know, sometimes it’s hard to resist a good flame war… but ignoring a troll is the best way to get rid of them. If there’s someone who continually rubs you the wrong way, just mute them. If you see someone clearly violating our community guidelines you can flag their post, this alerts moderators and helps the community to moderate itself.

You can read all about how to block and flag users here. It’s easy and it’s a huge help.

These are just general guidelines and ultimately it’s our moderators decision as to when and how to enforce them. As with almost every other community on the internet, generally speaking, just don’t be an asshole.

We reserve the right to remove anyone who consistently interferes with others ability to contribute or participate in the community.

If you’re interested in helping out in a more substantial way, we’re looking for moderators. Let me know.

SCREAMBOX Investigates UFOs and Extraterrestrials: Several Documentaries Streaming Right Now!

Published

on

As someone who is obsessed with UFOS (or more recently known as UAPs) and the concept of extraterrestrials, I love a good documentary. Sightings have been on the rise since the 1940s, with the atomic bomb seemingly acting as a catalyst for new visitors. But what are these UFOs/UAPs? Is there an explanation or are they simply beyond our explanation? Why are they here? Who are they? How much do our governments know? The questions are endless and so are the documentaries that attempt to uncover the secrets behind decades of sightings and alleged confrontations.

Whether you’re a seasoned viewer or new to the rabbit hole, there’s always a handful of interesting documentaries to get your neurons firing and leave you with sleepless nights. SCREAMBOX is investigating with the addition of several docs, all streaming now on the Bloody Disgusting-powered service. Here’s the breakdown:

Aliens (2021): Beam into this unidentified streaming documentary for a glimpse into Extraterrestrial life. Aliens are hypothetical life forms that may occur outside Earth or that did not originate on Earth.

Aliens Uncovered: Origins (2021): Before Area 51, hidden deep in the desert, the military discovered a hidden gem that helped them create Project Bluebook.

Aliens Uncovered: ET or Man-Made (2022): The crash of Roswell wasn’t meant for New Mexico. In 1947, a neighboring state had 3 major sightings that were swept under the rug.

Aliens Uncovered: The Golden Record (2023): In the late 70s, the US government launched a message to our distant neighbors.

Roswell (2021): This high-flying documentary examines the July 1947 crash of a United States Army Air Forces balloon at a ranch near Roswell, New Mexico. Theories claim the crash was actually that of a flying saucer, but what is the truth?

Also check out:

The British UFO Files (2004): Since the 1940’s the British Government has been investigating the Flying Saucer phenomenon. High-ranking military and government personnel, speak out for the first time, offering unique eyewitness accounts and inside information.

Alien Abductions and Paranormal Sightings (2016): Amazing Footage and stories from real people as they reveal their personal encounters of being abducted by Aliens.

And do not miss Hellier (2019): A crew of paranormal researchers find themselves in a dying coal town, where a series of strange coincidences lead them to a decades-old mystery.

These documentaries join SCREAMBOX’s growing library of unique horror content, including Onyx the Fortuitous and the Talisman of Souls, Here for Blood, Terrifier 2, RoboDoc: The Creation of RoboCop, Hollywood Dreams & Nightmares: The Robert Englund Story, The Outwaters, Living with Chucky, Project Wolf Hunting, and Pennywise: The Story of IT.
