‘Red Christmas’ Clip Comes Home, With a Cough

The only thing under the tree this year is terror.

Artsploitation will deliver the ultimate stocking stuffer with the home video release of the Australian horror film Red Christmas (read our review). Following a theatrical rollout across the United States, Craig Anderson’s feature debut will be available nationwide October 17.

On that date, look for the film on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD, including iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, Google Play, Vudu and more.

Genre icon Dee Wallace stars alongside Geoff Morrell, Sarah Bishop, and Janis McGavin.

“A troubled matriarch must defend her family when a mysterious stranger turns up at her secluded country mansion on Christmas day. A day of celebration becomes a night of terror, as the stranger reveals a secret from the family’s past, and threatens to destroy their future.”

The Blu-ray and DVD include a feature-length commentary with Craig Anderson, interviews with Dee Wallace, Gerald Odwyer and Craig Anderson, bloopers and more.

Does this movie take place in Los Angeles (or since they mention, out in the country, maybe outskirts of Riverside or something)? I know we in SoCal get less “Christmasy” looking Christmases, but pairing the holiday season with movies, the whole snow and shit just make things feel more “right”. Especially in horror, that shit is an extra obstacle for victims. pair high snow or a blizzard with a psycho killer, roads are closed, power’s out, the cold is creeping in as a murder stalks the night… that’s perfect!
