We’ve been fans of Michael Eklund‘s since his turn in Xavier Gens’ apocalyptic bunker hunker The Divide and most recently as a destructive force in Dirk Gently. His latest role is opposite Michael Ironside as a career criminal mixed up with a band of assassins in dark crime-comedy Stegman Is Dead.
The film is currently having a theatrical run in it’s native Canada starting in Toronto at Carlton Cinema from November 17. Vancouver follows with a one night only event at Rio Theatre on November 19. More Canadian cities are expected to follow. Extra information can be found on the Facebook page for the movie and future news of a US release.
“Meet Stegman. He’s dead. In this crime comedy, bizarre assassins must come together to unravel the puzzle of Stegman’s blackmail secret, and why he’s already dead on the set of his own porn film. Stegman’s secret is somewhere within the rooms of his expansive suburban seventies bungalow, and the cops are already circling. Gus and Evy, two of the central characters, must escape Stegman’s house only to discover the true nature of his secret at last, and with it, the awful realization that now… they have to break back in.”
