Next ‘Terminator’ Progressing With Billy Ray Doing a Rewrite

Oscar-nominated writer Billy Ray is doing a rewrite on the next Terminator for producer James Cameron and Deadpool director Tim Miller, the trades are reporting. Ray penned Captain Phillips as well as The Hunger Games, Flightplan, Suspect Zero, and the forthcoming Overlord.

A writers room for the film is currently assembled with David Goyer, Charles Eglee, Josh Friedman and Justin Rhodes and producer David Ellison, as well as Cameron. It’ll be interesting to see what Ray bring to the table.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, who has appeared in all five Terminator films, returns in the sixth film with Linda Hamilton’s Sarah Connor (Terminator 2: Judgment Day) also returning.

Paramount Pictures will release the film on July 26, 2019.
