Explosive ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ Trailer Goes On a Mission to Save the Dinosaurs

These creatures were here before us. If we’re not careful, they’re gonna be here after.”

It’s finally here. The official trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom has arrived, teasing an EPIC adventure with a fresh and intriguing premise: a second extinction.

A volcano is erupting on Isla Nublar, and Jurassic World heroes Owen and Claire are faced with a dangerous question: are the dinosaurs on the island… worth saving?

Cue massive amounts of prehistoric chaos!

The sequel — set several years after 2015’s billion-dollar smash Jurassic World — concerns a volcano on Isla Nublar that threatens the dinosaurs that had overrun the park at the end of the previous film. Who has the best shot at preventing the prehistoric beasts from becoming extinct (again)? That would be Chris Pratt’s dino trainer Owen Grady and Bryce Dallas Howard’s former park manager Claire Dearing.”

J. A. Bayona (A Monster Calls) directed the new installment.

Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are returning for the sequel, which also stars Jeff Goldblum, along with Justice Smith, James Cromwell and Toby Jones. Colin Trevorrow, who directed Jurassic World, wrote the script for the sequel with Derek Connolly.

Producers Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley once again join executive producers Steven Spielberg and Trevorrow. Belén Atienza also produced.

It’s been four years since theme park and luxury resort Jurassic World was destroyed by dinosaurs out of containment.  Isla Nublar now sits abandoned by humans while the surviving dinosaurs fend for themselves in the jungles.

When the island’s dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event.  Owen is driven to find Blue, his lead raptor who’s still missing in the wild, and Claire has grown a respect for these creatures she now makes her mission.  Arriving on the unstable island as lava begins raining down, their expedition uncovers a conspiracy that could return our entire planet to a perilous order not seen since prehistoric times.

With all of the wonder, adventure and thrills synonymous with one of the most popular and successful series in cinema history, this all-new motion-picture event sees the return of favorite characters and dinosaurs—along with new breeds more awe-inspiring and terrifying than ever before.  Welcome to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

“Life finds a way” the trailer says, while showcasing basically nothing but life getting massacred.

    • buroot

You wouldnt have to find a way if things were easy lol.

  • I’m really hoping this was just a taste of like the first 45 minutes of the movie.

  • Creepshow

If there is a horror movie opening the same day (I don’t care what it is at this point), I promise to go see it instead.

Jesus Schaech Christ, that looked awful!

    • Munchie Strikes Back

You’d be first in line if Schaech made a cameo as a T-Rex.

      • Creepshow

You’re dang skippy I would. Lord Schaech created all forms of life. Even CGI dinosaurs.

  • Nahuel Benvenuto

the design and fx of the dinosaurs still look cartoonish as opposed to the realism of the first two movies, but it looks decent, i hope is less of a self parody than the previous one

  • Jaimie

    …..this….doesn’t look good lmao

  • Adean

Is it just me or is that sort of a hokey reason to get those two back to the island? We need to save your favorite dinosaur from the volcano that’s gonna blow any second. Huh? Still. Count me in. Anything with dinosaurs run amok is worth seeing on a big screen.

  • I’m not blown away, but I’m still interested. The featurette did more to get me excited than the trailer did.

  • “Executive producer Stephen Spielberg”

  • zombie84_41

I was so hyped for this and avengers but sadly I’m left feeling bored. Avengers looks more of the same crap this looks like they had no story and tossed some shit together. A volcano happens kills the dinos or most so where they go too I wanta see a JP movie where the dinos take over earth again and kill the humans or something like that not this boring shit.

  • Munchie Strikes Back

Seems like a pretty weak plot and a contrived plot device designed to make people feel bad for the dinosaurs.

    • buroot

      Cough Lost World Cough…..

    • Agreed. That setup seemed truly awful, but I’m sure there’s more to it than what they showed. Right? Still looks like dumb Dino fun, though.

  • WindowsIsDead

    • buroot

I was happy when I saw it then sad when he got eated…..

      • WindowsIsDead

I’m sad he haven’t last any longer, but I ended happy seeing Rexy roaring and giving me the throwback chills

        • buroot

I kind of think Trex is overrated, I remember ppl losing it when one lost to spinosaur

          • WindowsIsDead

But but, is not any T-Rex, it’s Rexy!

I’m happy to see other Dinos taking the spotlight (I lost my shit with the Mosasaurus on the last one) but Rexy was there on my childhood and now she is here again. Old, scarred, but still kicking!

I would love to see a Megalodon, a Deynosuchus or a Ichthyosaurus or even a Kaprosuchus. But I figure two would be overkill and less fitting for the movie. Also Meg is underway, so one is sorted!

  • Dylan Summers

    RIP Nublar.

  • buroot

Looks awesome, wonder if thats the climax tho….

  • buroot

I really like Ankylosaurs finally getting love in the new ones.

  • llcc1103

  • So obviously I’m still going to see this, but my immediate thoughts: this trailer was….fine? A huge positive is that it doesn’t really show much beyond one set piece. I’m hoping the marketing keeps things hidden because most of Jurassic World was spoiled before it came out. The negative is that after director J.A. Bayona made it a point to say how he was going to make the sequel scarier and more suspenseful than JW, marketing the film as a typical action movie (showcasing an action set piece) seems like the wrong choice. Oh well, bring on the dinos! But seriously, I just want ONE set piece as scary as the kitchen scene in the first movie. Jesus. GIVE ME THAT BAYONA.

    • Barry El Beardo

I’m pretty sure the behind the scenes footage shows more suspense driven scenes. I trust JA completely. Have faith!

  • Biscoito18

I can smell the money from here! $$$
I hope it has more iconic deaths like the secretary’s death scene in the last film, much more tension AND more focus on people trying to escape alive than dinosaurs fighting each other.

  • Looks awesome, I would’ve totally lost it seeing this as a kid with all the new dinosaurs taking the spotlight. It’s nice to see some more practical effects this time round too!

  • Logan

The shot with the T-Rex roaring in front of the erupting volcano is fucking epic. I’m really looking forward to this.

  • Brad Tyler

I’m sure I’m going to love this, like I do all the others. However, I thought this trailer was a bit too one dimensional. it just seems to show pretty much the one scene (running and screaming) and not much else (possibly a good thing so as not to spoil too much) but I just felt it fell a bit flat for me.

  • Synthetictruism

I’m going to watch it, I’m going to enjoy it, but how many times can they excuse people deliberately putting themselves in the way of rampaging dinosaurs?
I’ve had fun watching each JP film in the franchise, and I’m sure that’s the point – big, dumb dinosaur fun, but perhaps there is a little part of me wanting something a little more substantial using the IP. Bah, I should probably just enjoy the films for what they are, shouldn’t I? 😉

  • Alanmac

Not really a JP fan, so to speak. I don’t dislike the films but I don’t really pay much attention to them either. That being said, this trailer looks like a lot of fun. Never saw Jurassic World so I may have to check that out before.

  • Valak

So… in Jurassic World we establish that Owen and Claire had gone on a date, but it didn’t work because she was the typical uptight career woman and he was the fun easy going guy, but by the end of the movie we were supposed to invest in them discovering an attraction and appreciation for each other after all. And by this film they’ve broken up again (“who you dating now, an accountant?”) and we’re going to watch them… discover an attraction and appreciation for each other after all, again? I think I’d like a dinosaurs-run-amok movie better without a forced romantic plot line.

    • J Jett

Valak, (regarding Owen & Claire’s gig) i was thinking the same thing! LOL. since they broke up (apparently) after JW, then i’d rather them just
stay friends in this film rather than have to go through their “discovering” they actually DO love each other after all.

  • Azwethinkweiz

I don’t care if Jeff Goldblum is in it for 5 minutes. He is in it, therefore I will go see it.

    • steeler74386

      Me too!

  • Chance LeBoeuf

Why is this a matter of conservation if cloning is a viable option in this world? It was also literally used for just a business endeavor. They stressed in the previous film too that these weren’t actual dinosaurs. They were this frankenstein experiment to artificially craft “dinosaurs” in the image the public recognizes and would be attracted to. So, is this like a PETA-ish organization just getting really outta hand?

Not to mention there is already an island out there that is populated with dinosaurs they seem to be conveniently ignoring for the sake of this plot.

Sorry, know Jurassic Park in inception is nothing too think too hard about because it was always very silly, but this chapter seems like it’s really pushing that. Should have done the miltary dino things because it would have been different, and probably silly in a fun way. Like, a war movie with dinosaurs. Go balls deep and have a blast. This just looks like a typical adventure movie that could just at least be moderately entertaining.

    • ChampionOfLight

It’s also weird how they TWICE made a theme park on an island that contained a Volcano apparently… seems the financial concerns in the past film really weren’t the thing they should have been worried about.

    • zombie84_41

I hope it be good but this trailer still isn’t selling it to me.

  • Lee W D

So very excited for this film! Jurassic Park remains my favourite film. I fell in love with the original as a child. I saw it 3 times at the cinema at the time.
    This film looks pretty epic!
I love the additions of Baryonyx,Carnataurus and more screen time for some of the other dinosaurs like Anklyosaur.
If it is a rescue mission, I wonder where they will transport them? Site B? They wouldn’t bring them to the mainland, surely?
I hope they manage to rescue enough of the dinosaurs. I’ve always had a soft spot for the T-Rex which has survived since the original park. It would be cool if they have included Dilophosaurus properly this time, rather than a hologram version.
The next six months are going to be a long wait!
Every time a new JP comes out, I am like a kid again… Except for JP 3… Well, I was excited until I saw it. lol

    • zombie84_41

I want to like this one but I am getting a JP3 feel lol. didn’t really like that when I was younger but when I watched it as an adult It’s not bad. I’m sucker for anything dinos so count me in here.

  • DukeStKing

I wouldn’t call 4 years several years. Wait, I’m wrong. Apparently, more than 2 is considered several. Though I wouldn’t say I had several dollars if I had only 4.

    • zombie84_41

      right i never understood that

    • Sorkin006

Well what in the hell does ‘several’ mean to you?

  • steeler74386

I liked the original j p and next two. Didn’t see Jurassic world. But Jeff Goldblum is in the new one so count me in ‘

  • The absolute dumbest fucking plot in the history of Jurrasic Park movies.

    • DukeStKing

      It really is.

  • Necro

    Isn’t this a planned trilogy?

    • zombie84_41

      suppose to be

  • Michael Josef Kappel

Is it just me or was that a horrible trailer?

    • zombie84_41

wasn’t you. I feel the same way. I watched it when it first came out hated it alot. Then just rewatched it a few mins ago still not feeling it. That volcano scene is just cheesy and stupid to me.

  • scream4ever

Just noticed this but at 1:08 you can clearly see the crushed car from Jurassic Park!!!

    • zombie84_41

      good fine

  • discochic

    yawns loudly

  • zombie84_41

Idk I just rewatched it again with knowing that this whole volcano scene happens in the first 50mins. But IDK a part of me still isn’t screaming this is awesome like the others. I feel something is missing.

  • Slackr loves music

It’s a terrible trailer, but you know they’re holding a hell of a lot back… I’ll be watching it lol.
