Did You Ever Notice E.T. Hidden in the ‘Gremlins’ and ‘Gremlins 2’ Posters?!

You’ve looked at them countless times, but we bet you never noticed the Easter eggs.

One of the most talked about movies of the holiday season is always Joe Dante’s Gremlins, which is of course the most iconic (and perhaps best) Christmas-themed horror movie out there. That makes December the perfect time to revisit the holiday classic, and while you’re at it, why not also give the totally bonkers Gremlins 2 a revisit?!

But we’re not here to talk about the movies themselves today. Rather, we wanted to shine the spotlight on two really fun Easter eggs hidden in their original posters!

They’ve very hard to spot without blowing up the images or pulling out a magnifier, but hidden within both the Gremlins and Gremlins 2 posters is the iconic logo for Steven Spielberg’s production company Amblin Entertainment, which is of course the image from E.T. of Elliot and his little alien friend riding a bicycle past the moon.

If you look closely, you’ll spot the Amblin logo on Billy’s button on the Gremlins poster, while it’s hidden on the wrapper of the cigar Stripe is smoking on the Gremlins 2 art!

How fun is that?!

Filming is underway on The Invisible Man director Leigh Whannell’s Wolf Man for Universal and Blumhouse, which will be howling its way into theaters on January 17, 2025.

Deadline reports that Matilda Firth (Disenchanted) is the latest actor to sign on, joining Christopher Abbott (Poor Things),  Julia Garner (The Royal Hotel), and Sam Jaeger.

The project will mark Whannell’s second monster movie and fourth directing collaboration with Blumhouse Productions (The Invisible Man, Upgrade, Insidious: Chapter 3).

Wolf Man stars Christopher Abbott as a man whose family is being terrorized by a lethal predator.

Writers include Whannell & Corbett Tuck as well as Lauren Schuker Blum & Rebecca Angelo.

Jason Blum is producing the film. Ryan Gosling, Ken Kao, Bea Sequeira, Mel Turner and Whannell are executive producers. Wolf Man is a Blumhouse and Motel Movies production.

In the wake of the failed Dark Universe, Leigh Whannell’s The Invisible Man has been the only real success story for the Universal Monsters brand, which has been struggling with recent box office flops including the comedic Renfield and period horror movie The Last Voyage of the Demeter. Giving him the keys to the castle once more seems like a wise idea, to say the least.
