40th Anniversary ‘Halloween’ Documentary Will Arrive Halloween 2018

This year is shaping up to be a great year for fans of John Carpenter’s Halloween (and who among us isn’t?!), as the 40th anniversary of the original classic will be celebrated with David Gordon Green’s brand new franchise installment in October, a direct sequel to the 1978 film that brings back Carpenter, Jamie Lee Curtis, and even Nick Castle.

But that’s not all. A documentary is also on the way!

UK’s Bloody Flicks just announced that they’re making a 40th anniversary Halloween documentary titled For the Love of the Boogeyman: 40 Years of Halloween.

“This documentary is by fans and for the fans, chronicling why John Carpenter’s classic has stood the test of time.

Bringing together some of the brightest voices from independent horror we will explore what makes the film so special. From the music, the mask to Michael Myers, everyone has their own take on Halloween, and why it is the blueprint for slasher horror and in our humble opinion, has never been bettered.”

They say that the doc is aiming for an October 2018 release.
