New Images Invite You into ‘A Quiet Place’
We suppose it’s only fitting that there hasn’t been all that much chatter about A Quiet Place, an upcoming horror film written and directed by, as well as starring, John Krasinski (“The Office”). The premise is intriguing, to say the least: there’s *something* lurking outside a family’s home, and noise is what attracts it to their location.
In this film, in other words, silence isn’t golden. It’s survival.
IGN got their hands on a batch of images from A Quiet Place today, which you can check out below. Also be sure to read their chat with Krasinski to learn more about this one.
“Silence is absolutely a character in the movie, along with each family member,” Krasinski told the site. “It is sort of the magic trick of the movie. Could we make a silent movie? One of the fears was ‘Can we pull this off?’ and I’m happy to say that we did. Silence was going to take on this very palpable discomfort in and of itself. The idea of silence can be jarring in many ways, and so off-putting, that it gives the movie a tone that other movies don’t have.”
In the film…
A family lives an isolated existence in utter silence, for fear of an unknown threat that follows and attacks at any sound.
Emily Blunt, Noah Jupe and Millicent Simmonds also star.
Michael Bay produced along with his partners Andrew Form and Brad Fuller of Platinum Dunes. Scott Beck and Bryan Woods wrote the original draft of the script.
Paramount Pictures will release A Quiet Place on April 6, 2018.
