The Madballs Easter Egg You Didn’t Notice On the ‘Ready Player One’ Poster

Published

on

Like Ernest Cline’s novel, Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One is going to be loaded with Easter eggs and nostalgic references to the past, many of which – including Freddy Krueger, Chucky and killer car Christine! – have already appeared in the various trailers for the film. What else? How about the beloved ’80s toys known as Madballs?!

The official Madballs account over on Instagram just tipped us off to something we completely missed in the latest poster for Ready Player One. Even though we had scoured the poster for Easter eggs when it originally hit, it required a *much* closer examination to spot this one. On the poster, Art3mis is holding a Madball!

More specifically, she’s holding Horn Head, one of the original Madballs characters who was introduced in the first series of the original AmToy line. Check it out below!

Ready Player One arrives on March 29, 2018.
