From the director of The Raid comes a new revenge thriller.

Dan Stevens (The Guest) is starring in director Gareth Evans’ Apostle, a pairing that’s so awesome we can’t help but be incredibly interested in this one. The Welsh filmmaker, who also co-directed the segment ‘Safe Haven’ in our own V/H/S 2, looks to be returning to the world of sadistic cults in his latest film, and today teases the completiion of the film with a new image.

In Apostle

“The year is 1905. Thomas Richardson travels to a remote island to rescue his sister after she’s kidnapped by a mysterious religious cult demanding a ransom for her safe return. It soon becomes clear that the cult will regret the day it baited this man, as he digs deeper and deeper into the secrets and lies upon which the commune is built.”

Michael Sheen, Lucy Boynton, Bill Millner, and Kristine Froseth also star.

Aram Tertzakian and Ed Talfan are producing along with Evans. Executive producers are Nate Bolotin and Nick Spicer.
