Mackenzie Davis recently landed the role of a brand new franchise heroine in Deadpool director Tim Miller‘s untitled Terminator film, which will serve as a sequel to James Cameron’s Terminator 2 rather than a continuation of the franchise’s current storylines. It’s still coming in 2019, but the wait is going to be a bit longer than expected.
Paramount had announced a July 26, 2019 release date for the Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton-starring film, which will now arrive November 22, 2019.
“I think Cameron and Miller came up with a concept where they can continue on with the T-800 but make a whole new movie,” Schwarzenegger recently told the UK Business Insider. “What they are doing now with this one is basically to just take a few very basic characters, like Linda Hamilton’s character and my character, and dismiss everything else. Just move away from all these rules of the timeline and other characters.”
James Cameron is producing the new installment.
