“Scream” Star Joins ‘Tales From the Hood’ Sequel [Exclusive]

Bryan Batt in MTV's "Scream"

We’re getting more Tales From the Hood from director Rusty Cundieff, which recently wrapped filming in New Orleans.

It was revealed late last week that Keith David, best known to horror fans from both John Carpenter’s The Thing and They Live, would be replacing Clarence Williams III as the film’s funeral director. Now, Bloody Disgusting can exclusively reveal the addition of Bryan Batt, who not only starred in MTV’s “Scream” series, but also “Mad Men” and 12 Years a Slave.

In the first film co-penned and produced by Darin Scott, a funeral director (Clarence Williams III) tells four strange tales of horror to three drug dealers he traps in his place of business.

It was as much of a socially relevant movie then as it is now. Things are so tense and so horrible in 2018 that the filmmakers should have a lot to say, making this potentially one of the most important films of the year.

Horror movie fanatic who co-founded Bloody Disgusting in 2001. Producer on Southbound, V/H/S/2/3/94, SiREN, Under the Bed, and A Horrible Way to Die. Chicago-based. Horror, pizza and basketball connoisseur. Taco Bell daily. Franchise favs: Hellraiser, Child's Play, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, Scream and Friday the 13th. Horror 365 days a year.
