What happened to Emily?
Paul Feig may never escape the fan fury over 2016’s Ghostbusters reboot, but up next he’s departing the comedy world entirely for a thriller titled A Simple Favor. The film is an adaptation of Darcy Bell’s same-named novel, released last year.
Blake Lively (The Shallows) and Anna Kendrick (Pitch Perfect) star in the film that’ll delve into Feig’s darker side, which is set for release on September 14.
In A Simple Favor, in the vein of Gone Girl and The Girl on the Train, “a single mother’s life is turned upside down when her best friend vanishes.”
Henry Golding, Andrew Rannells, Linda Cardellini, Jean Smart and Rupert Friend also star.
Jessica Sharzer (“American Horror Story”) adapted the novel. Feig and Jessie Henderson will produce the film under their Feigco Entertainment banner.
