‘He’s Out There’ Slasher Revealed in New Imagery
A few weeks ago we told you that the slasher He’s Out There is going direct-to-disc in the UK, with Splendid now listing the DVD and Blu-ray release as September 28, 2018. The film was always pegged as from the director of The Last House On the Left, Dennis Iliadis, only it’s all of a sudden listed as directed by Quinn Lasher. Who is this mysterious director? It’s probably a pseudonym.
Digressing, we have a handful of new images (one that pulls directly from the Friday the 13th films) that reveal the slasher in the film that stars “Dexter’s” Yvonne Strahovski.
“On vacation at a remote lake house, a mother and her two young daughters must fight for survival after falling into a terrifying and bizarre nightmare conceived by a psychopath.“
Also starring: Justin Bruening, Anna Pniowsky, Abigail Pniowsky, Julian Bailey and Ryan McDonald.
Dennis Iliadis previously directed Blumhouse’s Delirium and The Last House on the Left. He’s Out There marks Mike Scannell’s first feature screenplay. Rounding out the production team, Edward Wild is director of photography (London Has Fallen, Severance); Peter Cosco is production designer (Haunter); and Rick Shaine is editor (The Incredible Hulk, A Nightmare on Elm Street).
Produced by Sony’s Screen Gems, the script was originally titled “Scarecrow,” and was featured in the 2014 Blood List. Thanks to Fabien M. for the images.
No word on a U.S. release just yet, but we’ll update you as soon as we know more.

Matilda Firth Joins the Cast of Director Leigh Whannell’s ‘Wolf Man’ Movie
Filming is underway on The Invisible Man director Leigh Whannell’s Wolf Man for Universal and Blumhouse, which will be howling its way into theaters on January 17, 2025.
Deadline reports that Matilda Firth (Disenchanted) is the latest actor to sign on, joining Christopher Abbott (Poor Things), Julia Garner (The Royal Hotel), and Sam Jaeger.
The project will mark Whannell’s second monster movie and fourth directing collaboration with Blumhouse Productions (The Invisible Man, Upgrade, Insidious: Chapter 3).
Wolf Man stars Christopher Abbott as a man whose family is being terrorized by a lethal predator.
Writers include Whannell & Corbett Tuck as well as Lauren Schuker Blum & Rebecca Angelo.
Jason Blum is producing the film. Ryan Gosling, Ken Kao, Bea Sequeira, Mel Turner and Whannell are executive producers. Wolf Man is a Blumhouse and Motel Movies production.
In the wake of the failed Dark Universe, Leigh Whannell’s The Invisible Man has been the only real success story for the Universal Monsters brand, which has been struggling with recent box office flops including the comedic Renfield and period horror movie The Last Voyage of the Demeter. Giving him the keys to the castle once more seems like a wise idea, to say the least.
