Michael Dougherty Teases That Original New Kaiju Will Appear in ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’!
As we already know, Michael Dougherty‘s Godzilla: King of the Monsters will bring Mothra, Rodan and King Ghidorah into Legendary’s MonsterVerse, but at Monsterpalooza over the weekend, Dougherty teased that we’ll also be seeing other monsters in the film.
Some of them, he notes, will even be *original* Kaiju!
“Yes, [there are other Kaiju in the movie],” Dougherty told the Monsterpalooza crowd during his Q&A. “Not other Toho licensed creatures, but some original new ones. Yeah.”
“We’ve expanded the ecosystem a little bit,” he added.
You can watch the full Monsterpalooza Q&A session below!
The sequel takes place five years after the events in the first film…
“When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.”
Zhang Ziyi, Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, Millie Bobby Brown, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Bradley Whitford, Ken Watanabe, Thomas Middleditch, Charles Dance and Aisha Hinds star.
Dougherty directed from a script he wrote with Zach Shields.
Godzilla returns on May 31, 2019.
