Finally, a Sequel to ‘The Collector’ and ‘The Collection’ is Happening!
We’ve been begging for a sequel to The Collection ever since the follow-up to The Collector was released back in 2012, but despite the sequel tease at the end of the second installment (Arkin collects the Collector!), there’s been no forward momentum on that front these past seven years. Which brings us to tonight, and a tease from franchise star Josh Stewart!
Stewart, who plays the unlikely hero Arkin in the series, took to Twitter tonight to share a poster for The Collector 3, tweeted out with the simple caption: “Lock the door.”
And no, this isn’t just a cruel joke, as we’ve confirmed part 3 is happening!
Stewart’s Arkin was the sole survivor of the Collector’s wrath in the first film, a sinister maniac who’s fond of rigging up elaborate traps and quite literally collecting his victims… dead and alive. Stewart returned for the sequel, taking the fight to the Collector and ultimately defeating him. Presumably, the new film will pick up where The Collection left off.
Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan co-wrote both films, and Dunstan served as director. We can also exclusively tell you that Dunstan is back to direct the third installment!
More as we learn it…

Julia Garner Joins Horror Movie ‘Weapons’ from the Director of ‘Barbarian’
In addition to Leigh Whannell’s upcoming Universal Monsters movie Wolf Man, Julia Garner (The Royal Hotel) has also joined the cast of Weapons, THR has announced tonight.
Weapons is the new horror movie from New Line Cinema and director Zach Cregger (Barbarian), with Julia Garner joining the previously announced Josh Brolin (Dune 2).
The upcoming Weapons is from writer/director Zach Cregger, who will also produce alongside his Barbarian producing team: Roy Lee of Vertigo and J.D. Lifshitz and Raphael Margules of BoulderLight Pictures. Vertigo’s Miri Yoon also produces.
The Hollywood Reporter teases, “Plot details for Weapons are being kept holstered but it is described as a multi and inter-related story horror epic that tonally is in the vein of Magnolia, the 1999 actor-crammed showcase from filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson.”
Cregger was a founding member and writer for the New York comedy troupe “The Whitest Kids U’Know,” which he started while attending The School of Visual Arts. The award-winning group’s self-titled sketch comedy show ran for five seasons on IFC-TV and Fuse. He was also a series regular on Jimmy Fallon’s NBC series “Guys with Kids” and the TBS hit series “Wrecked,” and was featured in a recurring role on the NBC series “About a Boy.”
Weapons will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures.
