NETFLIX: Horror Films Streaming This August

Published

on

Well, this is disappointing. After a flurry throughout the summer, Netflix is slowing down leading right into fall. With Halloween just a few months away, there’s little being added to the streaming service, although Sleepy Hollow is returning, and it will be fun to revisit Final Destination 3.

Final Destination 3 (2006)

In this third installment of the Final Destination series, directed by James Wong, a student’s premonition of a deadly rollercoaster ride saves her life and a lucky few, but not from death itself which seeks out those who escaped their fate. Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ryan Merriman, and Kris Lemche star.

Sleepy Hollow (1999)

In Tim Burton’s Sleepy Hollow, Ichabod Crane (Johnny Depp) is sent to Sleepy Hollow to investigate the decapitations of three people with the culprit being the legendary apparition, the Headless Horseman. Christina Ricci and Miranda Richardson also star.

Victor Zarcoff’s 13 Cameras (read our review) stars P.J. McCabe, Brianne Moncrief, and Neville Archambault. In the film, “Newlyweds, Ryan and Claire move into a new home across the country, having no idea their grim and lascivious landlord, Gerald, has installed secret cameras in their rental home. As Ryan and Claire’s relationship strains from the stress of their pregnancy, Gerald becomes increasingly consumed with their lives, and begins to physically invade their privacy. Ryan and Claire soon find out that their marital issues are nothing in comparison to the monster that watches their every move.

The Curse of Sleeping Beauty (2016)

Underworld: the Awakening actress India Eisley stars in The Curse of Sleeping Beauty, about a young man inherits a mysterious estate that holds a legendary secret within its walls. Eisley will play the role of Sleeping Beauty, aka Briar Rose.

Pearry Teo directs the film in which, “Thomas Kaiser (Ethan Peck, “Eden”) inherits an ancestral mansion that has been in his family for generations — only to learn that he has also inherited an ancient curse stemming back to the Crusades. Forced into his new role as “protector” — the guardian appointed to keep the evil demons in the house at bay — Thomas teams with an ambitious local realtor (Natalie Hall, “True Blood”) and paranormal cleric (Academy Award nominee Bruce Davison, “X-Men”) to unravel the mystery of the house, while struggling to awaken the beautiful Briar Rose (India Eisley, “Underworld: Awakening”), held captive in a terrifying netherworld seen previously in his dreams.”
