‘Manhattan Baby’: Blue Underground Announces Blu-ray Upgrade
Blue Underground has announced that their next Luci Fulci film to hit Blu-ray will be 1982’s Manhattan Baby. Details are limited at this time but we do know there will be a brand new 2k restoration from the original negative and a bunch of new special features will be produced. Blue Underground did release some artwork and it looks like we will be getting a 3-disc limited edition set.
It’s kind of hard not to be giddy with excitement over this news. Blue Underground releases some of the best Blu-rays on the market and the more Fulci the better. When more news comes in (specific special feature details, release date, etc) we’ll be sure to share.
Synopsis:
An archaelogist opens an Egyptian tomb and accidently releases an evil spirit. His young daughter becomes possessed by the freed enity and, upon arrival back in New York, the gory murders begin.
One of my personal favorite horror movies of all time, 1987’s gateway horror classic The Gate is opening back up on May 14 with a brand new Blu-ray SteelBook release from Lionsgate!
The new release will feature fresh SteelBook artwork from Vance Kelly, seen below.

When best friends Glen (Stephen Dorff) and Terry (Louis Tripp) stumble across a mysterious crystalline rock in Glen’s backyard, they quickly dig up the newly sodden lawn searching for more precious stones. Instead, they unearth The Gate — an underground chamber of terrifying demonic evil. The teenagers soon understand what evil they’ve released as they are overcome with an assortment of horrific experiences. With fiendish followers invading suburbia, it’s now up to the kids to discover the secret that can lock The Gate forever . . . if it’s not too late.
