It’s been roughly 14 years since Max Cavalera’s split from Sepultura and subsequently about 13 years since he formed Soulfly. 1998’s self-titled debut landed at #79 on the Billboard 200, while their next two albums ranked at #32 and #46 respectively. Their latest album “Omen” could put them back on the charts. Some tracks to be included are “Bloodbath and Beyond”, “Jeffrey Dahmer” and “Lethal Injection”. The band has also reportedly recorded several cover songs expected to be released as bonus tracks. Among these are Led Zeppelin’s “Four Sticks”, Sepultura’s “Refuse/Resist” and Excel’s “Your Life/My Life”. The album will be unleashed on May 4.
The band will kick off a U.S. tour with Prong, Incite and Rotting Corpse in March. More information on the tour and the new album can be found at the bands website: http://www.soulflyweb.com
