Magnolia Pictures Acquires ‘Red’ Adaptation
Today we were informed that Magnolia Pictures has officially acquired Red (review) for release through their Magnet Releasing label. In addition, we’ve been provided with a look at the international sales sheet for the film, which is adapted from a Jack Ketchum novel. Look for the film in theaters this summer, along with VOD play dates. Directed by Trygve Allister Diesen and Lucky McKee, the film follows a couple of kids who kill a dog named ‘Red’, the trusty hound of an old gent. The owner finds out who they are, and tries to bring them to justice by informing the authorities. However, this amounts to nothing, so he decides to dish out his own brand of retribution.
