Said to be working with Sony Pictures Consumer Products Inc. and development studio Terminal Reality, Atari will be bringing this game to life and onto your favorite video game systems in 2009, which is the 25th anniversary of the original Ghostbusters movie release.
Here is the part where you get real real excited, if you already haven’t heard this: “the game was written by original Ghostbusters writers Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd and brings members of the original cast for the first time in 20 years. Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, and Ernie Hudson lend their voices and in-game likenesses to the original story set two years after Ghostbusters II, with Manhattan once again overrun by ghosts and supernatural forces. The game also features performances from fan favorites such as William Atherton (Walter Peck), Annie Potts (Janine Melnitz) and Brian Doyle-Murray (portraying Mayor Jock Mulligan).
The original Ghostbusters movie was released in 1984 and was one of Columbia Pictures most highest grossing films, and also, a sequel in 1989 was released and both movies together grossed over 500 million dollars worldwide.
I can not express in words or text how f*cking happy and excited I am that a 3rd movie was announced and a video game both starring all original members of the 1st 2 amazing movies, and the video game looks incredible, and I can only assume the movie will be as well. Tears everyone, tears.
