It’s about time we hear something about that Prey sequel. The first game was released way back in 2006 and brought us gravity bending, alien butchering gameplay with creepy organic weapons and nasty vagina doors. I can only hope Prey 2 will have all that and more, but we won’t know until the next issue of French magazine Joystick (what’s up with the French gaming magazines getting all the exciting exclusives?? as it looks like the game will be their cover story.
I really enjoyed the first Prey so I’m amped to see what Bethesda does with the next installment in the series. Hopefully they polish the story a bit while retaining the horror vibes the first game had. So many games these days feature some sort of human on alien action but it’s rare for the aliens to be fairly terrifying. Prey was like Doom just with Native Americans and more interesting weapons. Head past the break to see the full cover and if you missed the first game but are afraid to Google search ‘vagina door’, I’ve included a screen of exactly what I’m talking about, also after the jump. 5/14 UPDATE: The game is being developed by Human Head Studios, uses id Software’s engine (the one Rage uses) and is aiming for a 2012 release date on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
Awesome, now I hope you can stomach one of the more disgusting doors in video game history.
