The ESRB Doesn’t Like Dead Island’s Logo
It would seem the Dead Island box art American gamers get won’t be as well hung as the other versions. The ESRB has decided the hanged zombie has been censored because it’s been deemed too horrific for our eyes. Don’t worry, dead children are still totally cool. This isn’t the first time a zombie game’s logo has been seen as too macabre for the general population, Left 4 Dead’s hand with the severed thumb was also censored to make it look like the digit was folded in as opposed to torn off, shot off, eaten or worse. Its sequel also went through similar issues.

This change will only affect the North American version of Dead Island, everyone else still gets to enjoy the original logo in all its glory. Head past the break to check out the far less terrifying logo.
