Tribeca Winners Reteam For ‘In Human Shape’

Swedish helmer Tomas Alfredson and author John Ajvide Lindqvist are teaming for their second project, following their Tribeca win for feature with Ajvide Lindqvist’s offbeat vampire story LET THE RIGHT ONE IN. The film is a ghost story entitled Manniskohamn (In Human Shape), which is taken from Ajvide Lindqvist’s eponymous novel, published two weeks ago. “The new novel is very special and very difficult. We have made a gentleman’s agreement to make the film together, but we are in no hurry. It took time to make ‘Let the Right One In,’ and I think that was only good,” Alfredson said. “We have no production company behind us yet, and we know this will be an expensive film with lots of special effects.” Hammer Films and Spitfire Pictures have bought the U.S. remake rights to “Let the Right One In,” which also won the Nordic film prize at this year’s Gothenburg Film Festival.
