After the mini war that went on for months about which studio would finish their Amityville first, MGM and Dimension put down their boxing gloves and united to make one kick ass film. Now they must stick their noggins together and come up with a writer they both like and so on. I’m sure this could end up delaying the process, but they’ve already shifted the release date back to 2005, so no worries. Inside you’ll find information on who has been hired to work on the script for Amityville, I’m sure you’ll be pleasantly surprised!
According to Creature-Corner, “A handful of sources have informed us that Texas Chainsaw Massacre (review) scribe Scott Kosar is injecting his own twisted sensibilities into a draft of The Amityville Horror right now. From early reports we understand that Dan Farrands’ draft of Amityville was going to be used as a platform (plot-wise) from which MGM/Dunes/Dimension would leap into the remake, however, it’s unknown to what extend Farrands remains involved in the scripting process now.”
Kosar also wrote the amazing Machinist (review), which is looking at a 2004 release.
