‘Dark Water’ Finally Gets a US Release!

Anyone who is into Asian horror these days know about Hideo Nakata’s freaky Dark Water (review). Unfortunately, not everyone knows how to pick up these great flicks, or that they even exist! Well, today it has been announced that the film will be coming to US stores soon! Another DVD announcement is the New Zealand film, The Locals, read on for full details.
Fangoria reports that a pair of notable overseas horror films have recently been acquired for U.S. distribution. A.D. Vision has picked up the rights to the uncreibly creepy Dark Water, the Hideo (The original Ring) Nakata chiller currently being remade by Disney and director Walter Salles. In addition, Anchor Bay has picked up the New Zealand ghost story The Locals, from writer/director Greg Page. Whether the company will send it to big screens, as it is mulling for Dario Argento?s The Crad Player, or make it a direct-to-DVD title has not been determined.
