Over at Moviehole.net, they received a scoop from someone who attended auditions for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in TX. Inside you’ll find a little news on what they were looking for and which kids might be returning from the original film.
Moviehole writes, “‘Deb’ tells us her daughter just tested for a role in Tim Burton’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
“..the auditions were held in Houston TX at the Wingate Hotel this Saturday for the new release of Charlie & the Chocolate Factory. My 14 year old daughter Danielle Kirkpatrick auditioned for the part of Violet the gum chewing, blueberry turning, know it all. There were also auditions for the young boy who watched too much television. These are the only two children’s parts being auditioned for in the U.S. They had just come from New Orleans and were interviewing all day. Danielle the Actor’s Etc. young Drew Barrymore look alike was seen by Marty Cherrix the casting director. When they are finished auditioning here they will be taking the tapes back to London where they will make the final decision.Danielle was told that she did amazing and we are looking forward to their final decision on the part, and of course hoping that it will be her!”
The film, which stars Johnny Depp in the role of Willy Wonka, is based on the book “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”.
