New Preview Clip from Halo-8’s Animated ‘Godkiller’

Published

on

Halo-8 has given Bloody Disgusting an exclusive look a pretty cool brand new preview clip for the illustrated-film Godkiller, whose first episode comes to DVD this Tuesday Oct 6th. The clip that can be viewed beyond the break is a monologue sequence where Dr. Mulciber (Lance Henriksen) talks about his use of sex-magic to solve crimes. Godkiller is slated for a limited theatrical release in January 2010, but Halo-8 has put together an innovative release campaign by splitting the movie into three shortform, episodic DVDs released bi-monthly leading up to the full theatrical release (similar to how comic books are released before the complete graphic novel).
The first episode comes to DVD on Tuesday Oct 6th and Meltdown Comics will be hosting a free screening on Wednesday Oct 7th in their art gallery attached to the store on Sunset Blvd in Hollywood.

A post-nuke odyssey about a young boy venturing into the savage land of Outer City on a quest to find a new heart for his dying sister, GODKILLER was directed by award-winning filmmaker Matt Pizzolo (Threat) and features voice performances by sci-horror legend Lance Henriksen (Aliens), scream queens Danielle Harris (Halloween 4, 5, I, II) & Tiffany Shepis (Night of the Demons), horror hero Bill Moseley (The Devil’s Rejects), sci-fi starlet Nicki Clyne (Battlestar Galactica), cult icon Lydia Lunch (Richard Kern’s Hardcore), and singers Justin Pierre of Motion City Soundtrack and Davey Havok of A.F.I.

The dark, unrated film pioneers a new style of animation called ‘illustrated-films,’ developed by Pizzolo with his producing partner, Emmy-winner Brian Giberson. Utilizing the comic book’s sequential art by illustrator Anna Muckcracker, the illustrated-film adds 3D CGI, motion graphics, elaborate sound design, and dramatic voice performances for an edgy, sophisticated, intricately detailed new form of animation. Danielle Harris told iF Magazine “its more like moving art than animation, with very good writing.” Upcoming illustrated-films from Halo-8 include Tim Seeley’s LOADED BIBLE and James Farr’s XOMBIE: REANIMATED.

The Godkiller episode 1 dvd is available at Amazon.com $9.95 – Amazon or the Limited Edition DVD with cover art by Tim Seeley only at Hot Topic $9.99.

Shudder Infested clip, spider horror

Director Sébastien Vaniček has been set to helm the next Evil Dead movie, but up first from the filmmaker is the creepy crawly spider horror movie Infested. An exclusive new clip gives a discomfiting closer look at the spider terror, and it’ll make you intensely afraid of all bathroom drains and fixtures.

Infested will induce a new wave of arachnophobia this week; the spider horror film arrives on Shudder on April 26, 2024.

If you’re brave enough to face your fears, watch the new clip below to get a feel for the unrelenting wave of spiders that the characters (and the audience) will face in the film.

In the film, “An underprivileged suburb has been thrown into chaos following an invasion of venomous spiders. Ordered to be placed in quarantine, the project sees inhabitants living on lockdown alongside terrifying spiders that are becoming bigger and bigger.

“The story revolves around Kaleb, who’s about to turn 30 and has never been lonelier. He’s fighting with his sister over a matter of inheritance and has cut ties with his best friend.

“Passionate about exotic animals, he comes home one day with a venomous spider and accidentally lets it slip away.”

Théo Christine (“Suprêmes”), Finnegan Oldfield (“Final Cut”), Jérôme Niel (“Smoking Causes Coughing”), Sofia Lesaffre (“Les Misérables”) and Lisa Nyarko star.

Florent Bernard co-wrote the script.

In his review out of Fantastic Fest last year, Bloody Disgusting’s Trace Thurman raved that Infested (aka Vermines) is “one of the best spider attack movies in years,” noting in his 4-star review that the creature feature uses practical spiders – REAL SPIDERS – as much as possible. Thurman also wrote that the spider horror movie is “full of moments that will get under your skin (I kicked my legs up more than a few times in my screening).”

The spiders will be everywhere in Infested, are you ready?
