Ashlynn Yennie and Ashley C. Williams talk ‘Human Centipede’

Published

on

While walking the red carpet for the opening night of LA Screamfest, Human Centipede stars Ashlynn Yennie and Ashley C. Williams talked to BC about their buzz-worthy movie, which plays Sunday night at Screamfest, being held at the historic Mann’s Chinese in Hollywood. Tickets are on sale now – don’t miss out on this reportedly “sick” import from the Netherlands!

BD: Talk about Human Centipede without spoiling anything… this seems to be one of those movies that people talk AROUND without actually talking ABOUT.

Ashley C. Williams: You just HAVE to see, I don’t know how to explain it all that well. Everyone knows its about a crazy doctor who is sewing people together.

Ashlynn Yennie: It starts out like a typical horror film, cheesy reegular horror film, but it has this complete twist and turnaround that you don’t expect at all. And it’s very intelligently and artfully done

Ashley C. Williams: -and 100% medically accurate.

Ashlynn Yennie: And they call it the human centipede because you see the destruction of humanity. And you see that this man sees himself as almost like a God-like character. It’s the destruction of man, and it’s great.

BD: When I think of destruction I think of Centipedes.

Ashlynn Yennie: Exactly!

Ashley C. Williams: Me too!

BD: Can you talk about your characters? I assume you’re the heroines, not like the doctor’s evil nurses or some nonsense…

Ashley C Williams: We’re best friends, traveling through Europe together. My character Lindsay is sort of the mature, the more sort of take action type; taking control of the sticky situation that they’ve gotten themselves into.

Ashlynn Yennie: I’m the one that’s more of a follower, who doesn’t know anything. Lindsay will tell her “These people are trying to hurt you!” and she just doesn’t really get it.

Ashley C. Williams: I understand right away, I’m like “We need to get ourselves out of this situation!”, even though I’m still just as horrified.

Ashlynn Yennie: She’s the one that’s trying to get away whereas I just give up.

BD: Why is this called “First Sequence”, is there a “Second Sequence”?

Ashley C. Williams: Tom, the director; he would like to create a 2nd and a 3rd actually, and it will just get bigger and longer (laughs).

BD: A millipede?

Ashley C. Williams: A millipede, yeah. He held back in this one, but he’s going to go full force in the next one.

Human Centipede (First Sequence) screens at 8:30 pm on Sunday, October 18th at the Mann’s Chinese 6. Tickets available HERE
