Giuseppe Andrews, Alexi Wasser talk ‘Cabin Fever 2’

Published

On Saturday, LA Screamfest hosted one of the first ever public screenings of the long delayed Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever. Was it worth the wait? BC says YES! Gross out gags, WAY politically incorrect humor, and no little pancake kids combine to make a sequel that lives up to the original. Before the film, BC got a chance to briefly chat with two of the film’s stars: Giuseppe Andrews (encoring as Deputy Winston) and Alexi Wasser, who plays the female lead. Check after the break for our exclusive chats, and check out CF2 for sure when it hits DVD early next year.
GIUSEPPE ANDREWS

BD: Did you think, a couple years later, you’d be playing Deputy Winston again?

Giuseppe Andrews: Absolutely not, it’s so crazy. I came in at the last minute and played the part. I was lucky enough in the first one to adlib my own thing, and people enjoyed it a lot so I got to come back for the 2nd one.

BD: How does the tone compare to the first one? Scarier, funnier?

GA: Well, in terms of my part? That’s all I really know about it. I got to ad-lib doubly, be even more bizarre, go even harder on the weird sexual innuendos… so it should be much more bizarre and funny, yeah.

BD: Is Winston still looking for a party?

GA: (laughs) Yeah, absolutely.

BD: Talk about working with Ti… his other movies have only had like 4-5 people in them, but this one has a much bigger cast.

GA: This is the first time I worked with him, and it was fun, yeah. We showed up and did our work, and he let me do what I wanted to do.

BD: Have you seen the finished film?

GA: I haven’t seen ANY of it, it’s been a couple years, so yeah I’m excited to finally check it out.

BD: And will Winston return in Cabin Fever 3?

GA: I heard about it, me and Mark on a road trip type situation, I would love that. Mark Borchardt is outstanding, I loved working with him. It would be awesome.

ALEXI WASSER

BD: Can you tell us a bit about your character?

Alexi Wasser: My name is Alexi Wasser, I play Cassie. But I have long blond hair in the movie, so you won’t recognize me.

BD: Have you seen it yet?

AW: I have seen it, everyone dies! (laughs) I’m just kidding

BD: In the original, females got it worse than the guys in terms of the deaths and gross makeups, is that the case again for Fever 2?

AW: Nope, this is totally different, this one is gnarlier for the dudes. Have you heard there’s full frontal nudity? With lots of oozing stuff.

BD: How did you get involved? Regular audition?

AW: I auditioned for Ti West and he thought I was neat and did a good job, and it all just happened. And I like scary movies and I liked the script.

We then just discussed my poor fashion taste and my cats, which I doubt would be interesting for you guys. But you can keep up with Ms. Wasser at her blog, ImBoyCrazy.Com!

New ‘Infested’ Exclusive Clip Will Make You Intensely Afraid of Bathroom Drains

Shudder Infested clip, spider horror

Director Sébastien Vaniček has been set to helm the next Evil Dead movie, but up first from the filmmaker is the creepy crawly spider horror movie Infested. An exclusive new clip gives a discomfiting closer look at the spider terror, and it’ll make you intensely afraid of all bathroom drains and fixtures.

Infested will induce a new wave of arachnophobia this week; the spider horror film arrives on Shudder on April 26, 2024.

If you’re brave enough to face your fears, watch the new clip below to get a feel for the unrelenting wave of spiders that the characters (and the audience) will face in the film.

In the film, “An underprivileged suburb has been thrown into chaos following an invasion of venomous spiders. Ordered to be placed in quarantine, the project sees inhabitants living on lockdown alongside terrifying spiders that are becoming bigger and bigger.

“The story revolves around Kaleb, who’s about to turn 30 and has never been lonelier. He’s fighting with his sister over a matter of inheritance and has cut ties with his best friend.

“Passionate about exotic animals, he comes home one day with a venomous spider and accidentally lets it slip away.”

Théo Christine (“Suprêmes”), Finnegan Oldfield (“Final Cut”), Jérôme Niel (“Smoking Causes Coughing”), Sofia Lesaffre (“Les Misérables”) and Lisa Nyarko star.

Florent Bernard co-wrote the script.

In his review out of Fantastic Fest last year, Bloody Disgusting’s Trace Thurman raved that Infested (aka Vermines) is “one of the best spider attack movies in years,” noting in his 4-star review that the creature feature uses practical spiders – REAL SPIDERS – as much as possible. Thurman also wrote that the spider horror movie is “full of moments that will get under your skin (I kicked my legs up more than a few times in my screening).”

The spiders will be everywhere in Infested, are you ready?
