According to Variety, Music video and commercials helmer Andrew Douglas will make his feature directing debut on MGM and Dimension Films’ remake of The Amityville Horror. The thriller is expected to begin production in July. Based on the Jay Anson book, the original purported that the residents of a tree-lined home in a Long Island suburb were terrorized by a haunted house. The home had been inhabited previously by a disturbed young man who murdered his family. Scott Kosar (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) wrote the script.
